Extra source of income

Unread post by Ray Scully »

My younger son often asks me to go online to purchase concert tickets as they are released for sale. Apart from the inconvenience of getting up at 8.30 and the tickets rapidly becoming Birthday, Xmas presents, it doesn't present any great problem. However what is particularly surprising is that most concerts are sold out in minutes. If I then check 3rd party sites they are available for purchase at quite a premium. Should I, or could I make my cruise £ by actively entering this market?. However being a good Socialist it does not fit comfortably with me.

it's the same with hotels.

we are organising next year's hols and the hotels all appeared to be fully booked 11 months in advance.

initially we thought that they hadn't uploaded their 2015 calendars, but then found availability of on scores of online booking sites

Ray - it can be a bit of a dangerous, and possibly expensive, road to go down. First of all if you don't sell them you either have to take the loss or go some event that you may not want to go. Secondly some of the ticket agencies don't send the tickets out until just before the event which can annoy people if you sell them and don't deliver. Thirdly there are, I believe, moves afoot to ban this practice.

Meg - ring the hotel direct, you will probably get as good a deal as the agencies are offering.
