Llangoed Hall

Unread post by suespud »

Just feel I should share this.... :D
We have stayed here a few times now...adore this place.

Pure luxury and chill out place and amazing countryside.

We are going again for a couple of nights in October , can wait!!!

It has just been awarded The Best Country House hotel in the UK, by the Sunday Times.

I think that merits a visit. It looks absolutely wonderful. We have friends in that area whom we haven't seen for years so that's as good an excuse as any. Thanks Sue!

Totally agree it is a beautiful place. I had the privilege of working there from 1992 until 2002 when it was owned by Sir Bernard Ashley. (Co-founder and husband of Laura Ashley). It went through a bit of a slump a few years ago, but it it so good seeing it back to it's former glory and winning awards again.

Lucky you Michele, apart from the hotel side of it, it an amazing building.
I think I should have been born a couple of hundred years ago, cos I feel soooo at home the moment I walk through the doors.

I'm loving the way its getting better and better each year, after it's slump. We were there for the first time about four years ago.
The food is very very yummy...
Tasting Menu is to die for...

Off to Swansea tomorrow, for what might well the last time.
The job my OH was doing there finishes in the next few weeks.
Staying in Swansea for a few days...only spending one night at Llangoed Hall now..(Saturday)
But really looking forward to it.
Driving there early Saturday morning, to make the most off the gardens and the fabulous reception rooms. Then back to Swansea on Sunday... Going to say goodbye to Mumbles...Langland, Caswell bay...etc.
Had some lovely times in the 6 years we spent there.
Met some lovely people too. :D

Happy days...

Happy times, but no doubt you'll be sad to be leaving Sue. Sounds like you will be taking lots of happy memories with you.
Have a lovely time.
