50th Wedding Anniversary

Unread post by Delboy »

Look what Lorraine & I were doing years ago.

As well as our 50th wedding Anniversary today, it is also our sons 45th birthday, and also his wife's birthday today.

I first met Lorraine when she was 16 and we married when she was 19 I was 25.

Congratulations Dellboy and Lorraine we wish you many more anniversaries for the future, Cheryl and I have something in common with you two. Although we are five years behind you getting married Easter Saturday 28th March 1970 our son was also born on our wedding anniversary.
We celebrate our 45th on Saturday which is our son Anthony's 42nd Birthday what a coincidence.
Happy Birthday to your son and his wife too.

Happy Anniversary to you too Ray & Maureen, there seems to be a theme going here, three Easter weddings and all had sons born around Easter is there something in the air around the end of June or what ?.
We are celebrating on our own tomorrow at a local restaurant as the kids are doing other things and 45 years is nothing special (unless its a prison sentence) but Derek and Lorraine are keeping quiet about their Golden celebration so there's no chance of us gatecrashing is there.

I was going to say what a wonderful achievement but you can't measure a marriage in terms of achievements.... if a marriage lasts 50 years it can only be a labour of love

Congratulation to you both on this very special day.

Thank you all for your congratulations, on behalf of Lorraine & myself they are very much appreciated.

We had a lovely meal out with all the family last night to celebrate, we tried a new local venue (new for us), I had one of the best meals out I've had in a long while, the others all also agreed. Very friendly staff and management plus entertainment, a very good local band which helped finish the evening off on a high, plus the drink of course. As far as going away to celebrate we are leaving that until the summer, have not decided where or how yet.

Once again thank you all.
