Seems to be typical behaviour for some!

Awful. Though in fairness the media will report the stories that are newsworthy. I suspect the majority saw the New Year in without getting paralytic or into a fight and that doesn't sell papers. I did notice 'Uddersfield mentioned in one of the stories, but couldn't spot Towny making a show of himself.

Isn't it time those who get legless to the extent they need an ambulance and hospital treatment were charged for the privilege? Go out and have a good time but ultimately you are responsible for your own safety and welfare. If you can't cope with this you pay.
If that makes me a miserable so and so then so be it.

Agree 100% Foxy, so we must both be miserable so and sos.
A huge amount of the work done in A&E is drink related. If there was a charge for treatment then a) it would help NHS finances and b) I suspect there might be less drunks making things unpleasant for more deserving patients.

The French seem to have a better way to run their A&E, you are not allowed in until you have been triaged, from when any timing presumably starts; and any relatives/friends have to stay in the waiting area.
Presumably drunks will have to wait to be triaged by which time they might be sober.

Yes, it crossed my mind as well Merv, but I thought I wouldn't make a thing of it being the new year and all that

I'm in a very agreeable mood this evening so agree with Stephen in that the pictures printed don't portray a very good image of youth today. I also agree with Sir Merv in that the media will have been very selective in the pictures shown. I also agree with OBF in that those who need hospital treatment, due to their over indulgence should be required to cough up for their own medical treatment.
P.s...dose anyone know of a good cure for a hangover....I've been throwing up all night
