Naked Rambler

Unread post by Romig1 »

Yesterday, I posted a link on another thread about the naked rambler being in court in Oxfordshire. Imagine my surprise when later in the day I read in a local paper of another court appearance in Halifax.

http://www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/news/lo ... -1-5382919

According to the article, local folks were "disgusted", "sick and angry", "alarmed and distressed" and "felt unsafe".

Personally, I don't have a major problem with his actions, and think some of those comments are a little over-reactions. Anyone who reads the news at all should surely by now be aware of this gentleman and his non-aggressive, non-confrontational habits.

I did chuckle, that he was allowed to address the court naked, though I suspect with the chilly weather around here recently he would have been well-advised to undress once he got inside! :D

Any other views?

I think I would have just laughed

I can understand peoples reactions though especially if there were children in the vicinity, I think everyone should have a right to what they believe in but a town centre isn't really the place is it, I always thought nudists belonged to clubs where they went to various venues with like minded people and therefore avoided upsetting others.

Ok, before we start - huge apologies to anyone who is offended, but - this chap is from Eastleigh (is this by any chance the place which used to have a certain MP/Minister who now has legal proceedings and a huge matrimonial type argument?).

Is this just a coincidence methinks or am I being a total wally?

Anyway, the funniest thing in all the world is a chap with nothing on except for socks and shoes - so, if this chap is on a mission to cheer up Britain ..... well the loony bin is thataway

He is good for comedy value but little else.
If anyone else went about exposing themselves to children they would be referred to as paedos ... but treat him as anything other than a joke is defintiely OTT.

But he isn't specifically exposing himself to kids. He walks through the countryside naked too.

,,, but children also walk through the countryside.

Personally I really don;t see that as a big issue ... but I think people tolerate his eccentricities more than they would if anybody else did it. For instgance to appear in front of a judge in a state of disrobe is plain disrespectful and he should have been treated harshly.

The newspaper reports make no mention of the court's attitude to his state of undress. I wonder how it was viewed by the judge?

Could be dependant on whether the judge was male  or female

Hmmm, having seen his photo I'm doubting that ANYONE would welcome seeing him in the buff! :o

So what would 'harsh treatment' be then?

  :lolno:

On the other hand (well sort of) (apologies for the pause, I just have to stop myself laughing about this) - when he goes 'off-road' firstly what wouldn't I give to be a 'busy little bee'.

On a more serious note - when he goes 'off-road' .... I've heard of sheep worrying, but would the naked bloke do more than that? Would we end up with sheep that are not just worried, but so seriously concerned that they may need vetinary psychiatric treatment? Baa himbig I hear people mutter!!! (Apologies for the typo there)! Or, would it just be a load of bull?

Well done for cheering me up on a drizzly Saturday morning. Must dash - just heading out into our meadow (wearing the long johns and boots of course) to seek naked ramblers.

Em

Apart from a little banter on this forum I can’t see anything funny about a man rambling round the countryside naked.

On a cold winters day after a long naked ramble do you think that when he gets back in the first thing he does is get himself a stiff one?

I've got it, I've got it (no, not the plague, not norovirus) - the 'harsh treatment' - a worthwhile use for the kippers then?

Onelife - I am sorry that you were unable to see anything funny about a man running about in the nude in the countryside ....... but then you are male, and wouldn't see the funny side of it.

I still think it's hilarious - and as for the 'he's nuts' comment ..... is that in anyway connected with the Aldi advert with the two koalas?
