Cheeky bu99ers. But thanks anyway.
Been on a ship visit on Arcadia. Not for us I'm afraid. Underwhelmed. But there you go at least we now know before spending out on a cruise on her.

We were also totally underwhelmed by Arcadia when we first went on her but she has grown on us. What an interesting way to spend your birthday.

A belated Happy Birthday Stephen, your postings do amuse me - well most of the time. We didn't like Arcadia as much as the other ships either and yet so many people say she is their favourite.

A god job we are all different hey Carole or we could all end up like OnelifeCaroleF wrote:A belated Happy Birthday Stephen, your postings do amuse me - well most of the time. We didn't like Arcadia as much as the other ships either and yet so many people say she is their favourite.Carole
The ship to us just looked dated and in need of a major face lift ,and she's not due for a refit for another couple of years yet. The colours around the ship were so dull and boring. We were shown the various cabins and non of them we went into gave us that 'oh that's nice' or 'wow' factor. The suite was dire. OK, it was large with a large balcony but again you didn't walk in and think 'oh yes, I wouldn't mind some of this'. It was again just plain and boring. The bathroom was just the usual double plastic sink or whatever it's made of, bath and separate shower all in the usual pale peachy colour. As for the balcony furniture, that was terrible, it was the usual grey plastic woven mesh furniture that looked filthy and tired. I've been on some ship visits where you walk into the suite and you immediately think wow, very nice with a bathroom all in immaculate marble and gold fittings that knock spots off Arcadia.
We have only ever once had a mini suite as a special treat, but if I were paying the high price required for a suite on this ship I would be bitterly disappointed.
Sorry, I really don't see the attraction. A shame really because I did want to like it.

Re: Happy Birthday Stephen
Fair comment about the suite but the general decor and colour scheme is nowhere near as drab as the Behemoth sorry, Brittania

Probably not, but that's no excuse for most P&O ships lacking a wow factor, when I go on holiday I like a bit of glitz, but on the 4 P&O ships we've been on we feel totally underwhelmed.qbman1 wrote:Fair comment about the suite but the general decor and colour scheme is nowhere near as drab as the Behemoth sorry, Brittania
Obviously P&O feel that drab is what their passengers want, no wonder they top the polls for moaners on cruise forums. (Swiftly donning hard hat and steel toe caps)
