Passport Number Check
Just checked our passport details on cruise personaliser and noticed it was showing both our old passport numbers. Now, I check and SAVE any change in details every time we cruise so I can't understand why the old passport numbers would be there. Strange.
Perhaps a glitch in the new web site.

Re: Passport Number Check
I think that's a security thing, it quite often shows an incorrect one for mi e j til I go in and amend it.

Re: Passport Number Check
Thanks for the update Lindsey.
Still, a good idea for everyone to check their details are in order rather than assuming.

Re: Passport Number Check
hadn't realised the details were saved on their system until we cancelled and rebooked a couple of weeks ago.
Spent ages searching out the relevant insurance docs and passports , only to find all the stuff was already there from the cancelled one's personaliser (I'd assumed).
we have now booked a river cruise and was going to copy/paste from one personaliser to another - praps I'd better check, just in case?

Re: Passport Number Check
Stephen, my Cruise Personaliser recently showed my old passport number too, even though it had successfully remembered my new passport number for the 4 previous cruises!?!
Hey, but at least we could access Cruise Personaliser, so clear signs of progress in the P&O I.T. Department

Re: Passport Number Check
On the subject of passports, it is Spanish law that you carry photo ID and when visiting Spanish ports the Horizon tells you that you don't need a passport when going ashore but your cruise card does not have a visible photo on it.
I don't have a photo driving licence but I always carry a colour scan of my passport in my rucksack but often wonder if this is a legal document.
I know that your image comes up on screen when the cruise card is scanned but the police would not have that facility if you were asked for ID.

You are also required to carry your national insurance health card. In some instances if you are not carrying it and you need it, it can invalidate any insurance claims.

Re: Passport Number Check
Slightly odd that the Personaliser should show old passport details since presumably if you have a new passport the old one is out of date and wouldn't be valid for travel!
Just been on to check mine and noted that when logging in and asking for your birth date the Personaliser allows for travellers up to 115 years old. I bet their travel insurance is pricey!

Re: Passport Number Check
Just been checking our data for a May cruise and my passport had gone back to the old number, but the dates were for the new òne, however Lady T's was correct.
You would think P&O would try for some sort of consistency .

Re: Passport Number Check
We usually take our photo driving licences with us - but in your case I wouldn't have thought that a photocopy of your passport would be acceptable unless the copy had been witnessed/signed etc by a Notary Public. Even so, I don't know if the authorities would accept it.Raybosailor wrote:On the subject of passports, it is Spanish law that you carry photo ID and when visiting Spanish ports the Horizon tells you that you don't need a passport when going ashore but your cruise card does not have a visible photo on it.

Meanwhile, it's interesting and helpful to read about the NH card - I don't even know where ours are, and I don't know our NH numbers either. I would have thought though that the EHIC card have information that would link through to the NH number.
We always have our EHIC cards with us - until Brexit changes things, that is.

My husband doesn't have a photo driving licence, so he takes his Gas Safe ID card. Although it is not issued by the government so I don't know if it is technically allowed.

Re: Passport Number Check
I have been lucky enough to book another cruise for next year. On checking the cruise personaliser my passport number is incorrect. I am still convinced that this may be a security thing with the passenger having to go into the system to enter the correct details.
A!So noticed that it shows for that cruise that I will have really he'd the Baltic tier.

Re: Passport Number Check
I've checked mine for the next cruise and all the details are correct. I've even clicked "update" but the system is still showing that I need to add passport details !
My confidence in P&O's IT is at a low ebb (not that it was ever flowing very quickly !!)
