I hate to admit it but I was a teenager in 1963 and I do remember it starting to snow on Boxing Day and not stop until March. I can remember walking to school in all the snow but I don't remember much else. The pictures on the documentary were amazing - the size of the snow drifts! I dread to think what would be the reaction if it happened today. If the country goes to pieces when there's snow for a few hours, what would it be like if it went on for three months?

haven't seen the programme - but I was old enough to appreciate it and young enough to enjoy it at the time!
