What a sick society we live in
Did anyone else see this sickening display on the news last night. They should be ashamed of themselves and deserve everything they get, which probably won't be a lot.
Grenfell Tower bonfire: Five men arrested over video http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-46106224

Why publicise the event?
I thought the mobile phone video was tasteless and the commentary focusing on the materials used to build the tower unnecessary.
A short terse comment without video was all that was needed.
Where did it take place, Up North in the uncivilised belt?

I tried to edit the above but it wasn’t having it.
I wanted to say that the first sentence was an honest question not an outraged outburst.

I just can't believe that anyone could view that video - I haven't seen it only heard part of the audio on the radio - and think it was funny. As to giving it publicity I think that the more people who come out and say what an evil, disgusting thing it was to do, the better.

Considering the people concerned handed themselves in, in South London.! Your comment about Up North, the uncivilised belt was totally wrong and insulting.Ranchi wrote: 06 Nov 2018, 09:06Why publicise the event?

I'm at a loss as to why any decent human being could find this disgusting act funny.....those present in that room should be ashamed of themselves.

They probably won't be ashamed for long, indeed if at all, for such people it's comes with the territory and the area they grew up in. Unfortunate but ongoing exposure to ethnic hatred at a young age would forever taint their thoughts and actions.
It's firework night, the beer was plentiful and it all started off as ' A bit of a laff ' but it got out of hand. The u-tube video was doubtless intended to be shared with like minded souls.
Cannot be condoned of course but in this snowflake age it will doubtless go unpunished bar a Community Order of some sort.

It may have been bonfire night Mob but it would have taken a bit of cutting and sticking to create that 'Art Attack'
Clearly not a spur of the moment 'bit of a laugh'

As said on the news, a lot of effort was put into the structure.
As for punishment, it can carry a prison sentence of up to two year, or a fine, or both as stated on the news bulletin. But I expect it will be just a slap on the wrists.

I’m an insensitive Northumbrian.
My ‘Up North’ comment was a response to the original poster’s profile location, which I didn’t find insulting....did you?

I'm not quite sure what crime has been committed here.
Bad taste - Yep
Insensitive- definitely
Stupid - without a doubt.
But criminal ?
The organisers of Lewes festival where they burn effigies every year must be crapping themselves .
Every year they perform a 'hate crime' by today's standards.
