Weekend in Bath

Unread post by Whynd1 »

Hi All

I am off in the morning for a weekend to the lovely City of Bath.
Used to go regularly before we moved to Wales.
I am being treated to this my by daughter for my birthday.

It's a lovely sunny start to the day here after a week of horrible weather.

One of my favourite cities - love the honey colour of the stone when the sun shines. A beautiful city - traffic not so good! Have a wonderful weekend.

Saturday 14 Sept 2019 would be a good date to visit Bath when they do the "Jane Austen Parade". Parking can be tricky though.

Managed to park in a 24hr car park. Very busy and it's now raining. Had some lovely drinks in the Ivy. In the hotel getting ready to go out to a lovely French restaurant for dinner.

We keep saying we are going to visit more of our own country but still keep booking cruises. We have been to Bath a few times and have always enjoyed it and we would be happy to go back to that area.

We watched a programme on Channel 5 the other night called 5 Celebrities go Camping and it was based on the Isle of Wight. There were places I have never seen before and I've lived on the Island for all of my 70 years. We really don't always appreciate what we have in our own country.

Judging by my weekend Maureen, I am very out of touch with prices in prime tourist areas like Bath.

Found everything incredibly expensive .

Had a lovely weekend though and spend some quality time with my daughter which is priceless !!!
