Including an avatar
I don't know if I am being incredibly dim, but I haven't been able to work out how to add a profile picture/avatar. Did I miss something at registration?

Nope. Refer to the thread called 'help' or something like that, where Romig provides links on how to both get avatar and get rid of unwanted email reports.

No, you didn't miss anything at registration - you need to add one after you have joined.
Click on the wheel icon (user control panel), then select "profile". Then select "edit avatar", which takes you to the page you need.
From there, you may have some problems with the size of the picture you select, so have a look at the link in this thread (which Lulu mentioned).
