Too hot for me
Roll on the weekend when the temps go back to something more normal. Phew
It was horrendous last night trying to sleep. Not a breath of outside air. We had a fan going in the bedroom most of the night. Even Monty the cat was enjoying the breeze from it.

Quite agree, we all look forward to some decent weather but you can't even sit outside and be comfortable as it's far too hot and no breeze, storms are forecast for tonight - bring it on is what I say I love a good storm

Re: Too hot for me
We've already had our electrical storm … just after midnight on Tuesday.
Today is extremely hot in darkest Darzet but our painters seem to be enjoying their tasks while working in the full glare of the sun rather than going round the back for some shade.

Fitted 10 years now, probably only use it 7 days a year on average, but to us well worth the investment.Stephen wrote: 25 Jul 2019, 14:56Roll on the weekend when the temps go back to something more normal. Phew

Re: Too hot for me
Far too hot for me. It was 31 here this afternoon - 9 miles east of Southampton - but is now cloudy with the threat of rain shortly. One of my daughters is in Surrey and it's 33 there. At least we don't have the 38 that it is in some parts of the country. I saw some of the London commuters on the news - so pleased I don't have to do that, especially with all the delays because of the rails buckling in the heat. Roll on tomorrow as Stephen says.

Re: Too hot for me
I know what you mean. 28deg her with a real feel of 30.
The new log burner will get lit if it gets much colder. We've already put the 500 tog rating quilt back on the bed.

Re: Too hot for me
We had our terrific storms during Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Far too hot for me yesterday and today as well. I can't cope with the heat at all. Had thunder rumbling on and off for most of today as well. Few shortish showers as well but nothing to do the gardens much good plus it is no cooler at all. Bad storms forecast for us tomorrow lasting until Sunday lunch time.

Re: Too hot for me
It's been quite pleasant up here. None of the extreme temperatures you in the south have experienced plus living close to the coast there is usually a coastal breeze.
I was taught to be cautious

Re: Too hot for me
Funny isn't it. People across the UK moan it's too hot. (Not us of course. We never moan.) But then as soon as the sun goes in they spend thousands to fly to hot places for their holidays.

Re: Too hot for me
The problem with this country it's all or nothing, which is why we like making the weather our favourite talking point. If the weather gradually got warmer so we could acclimatise like other countries we would love it. Yes, we and other countries get freak heat spikes like we have just had, but on the whole it goes from one extreme to the other over night.
