Good service from Plus Net
We have a small cottage in Dorset where the internet provider is Plus Net. Most of the time we don't have any problem with it but recently it's failed on a couple of occasions - been in and out so to speak. Plus Net were very helpful in that they arranged an appointment for when my husband was going to be there. An engineer arrived - this was a week ago - and John says spent nearly three hours sorting the problem. The place is in the country, quite rural. When the engineer was there he got the internet working but said to John he thought there might be something else that he couldn't access at that time but that they would keep an eye on it - oh yes, we thought. We knew as of Monday of this week it was working as John has a Hive system controlling the heating and by logging on to the Hive he knew that the internet was ok. He hasn't checked since then.
Anyway this morning at home John had a call from Plus Net to say that the internet wasn't working in Dorset and could they arrange a time to visit. John was intending to go down today to do a couple of jobs and said, without much hope, that he'd be there tomorrow. No problem they said and have arranged to call tomorrow morning. It's the first time I've heard of a provider calling to say there's a problem rather than the usual hanging on the phone for hours trying to get through to them. Admittedly as of now the internet isn't working but as they seem to know what the problem is hopefully it will be sorted. I just thought that seeing as we are only to happy to moan about internet companies this happening is worth mentioning.

We're with Plusnet as well, largely because of their excellent customer service, complete with UK call centre.
After a few awful experiences with another provider that uses an overseas call centre, we thoroughly recommend them.
