Android apps crashing
It appears earlier in the week Google pushed out a duff update that causes some apps to crash on android. This is evidenced by tapping the app to open it, it appears to open and then returns you to the home screen. This should fix itself automatically but if you are stuck try the following
- open play store
- click the hamburger button (horizontal bars at the top left)
- select my apps and games
- ensure any pending update for 'android system webview' and 'chrome' are applied

Re: Android apps crashing
Thanks Ken. Even though I hadn't had any problems I checked this anyway and found I had 9 updates pending (even though I have auto update switched on) so I am now updated. Thanks for the tip.
I was taught to be cautious

Re: Android apps crashing
I only had 3 pending with the last update 5 hrs ago, so I assume these will be updated over the next 24 hrs.

If you have an aggressive battery saving mode selected then updates may not be as 'automatic' as the word would suggest. They will eventually go through but only when the phone feels it has capacity' to spare (very much over simplified).Manoverboard wrote: 24 Mar 2021, 13:43She has 7 to do and says that they should already be updated cos the ' auto update ' is set to on ...

Re: Android apps crashing
As it happens it's a Samsung tablet rather than a phone but Mobietta tells me that it does put apps to sleep from time to time and that her battery is on a ' saving ' mode ... well done that manKendhni wrote: 24 Mar 2021, 21:19If you have an aggressive battery saving mode selected then updates may not be as 'automatic' as the word would suggest. She sounds on the ball with tech. Has she considered offering to help out P&O's IT people?
