Do You Believe It
Listening to the radio this morning there was a report saying that 20% of Internet users believe everything that they read on the Internet and take it as the truth.
So the question is - do you believe this?

You are right in doing so, since you are obviously one of the 20%

The daft thing is that so much of the inaccurate information on the Internet is contradictory so you'd have to be a complete moron to believe it all. So the question comes down to are 20% of Internet users morons?
Probably yes.

This is not purely in the realms of young people. The main problem now is that people have lost the art of critical thinking and instead work on a basis of cognitive bias. Social media is a real breeding ground for the likes of anchoring bias and false-concensus.Onelife wrote: 30 Mar 2022, 18:18I think the younger generations are greatly influenced by what they view on the internet so Yes!
A good example was the theory that the vaccination program was a means to micro-chip us ... the main evidence was that they were magnetic ... the verification being that a coin pressed against the skin would stick (a 'trick' I learned when I was in primary school). Someone posted this and claimed it was the vaccines. The conspiracy theory grew and despite the original author openly stating it was a joke the theory had gathered momentum.
The old quote is very true “It's easier to fool a man than it is to convince them that they have been fooled”.

Absolutely Ken, indeed history has taught us that we are al influenced by the thoughts/suggestions of those who wish to control…. there are still those who believe a bottle of Full Fifteen can be turned into the blood of Christ!
The only time I’ve come close to thinking that this could be true was when I downed 8 glasses of the stuff

We ordered a mixed box of reds from Laithweights a couple of months back, two of which were “Full Fifteen”…as you say it is a lovely wine, dare I say nearly on par with our favourite Black Stump.

I'm a fan of Jack Rabbit Merlot myself but I'm hardly a wine connoisseur.
I wonder how many of the 20% will never cruise with P&O because of the situation with P&O ferries.

Sainsbugs are / were selling a very nice High altitude Malbec. Normally it is £13 a bottle but they have £3 off and 25% discount if you buy 6 ... a real give away at that price
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

I’m naturally cynical and was taught to be cautious.
I’m a firm believer in ‘trust your instincts’
Read, digest and make your own decisions.
I think that I have a fully operational Bulls#it radar.
It’s done me ok up till now.
