P&O Shares
A quick question.
How do I show evidence of my shares being dated within the last 3 months to obtain extra OBC?
I gave them everything bar the kitchen sink but that obviously isn’t good enough.

Re: P&O Shares
If you hold the shares through an investment company, many of them will provide evidence to Carnival via the following e-mail:--- Shareholder benefits <shareholderbenefits@carnivalukgroup.com> you need to phone them or send a private message from your online account.
If they dont then you need to take a screenshot of your holding from your online account. You should blank out out your ID and any other personal data except the Carnival holding.
In either case you need your P&O booking reference and your cruise number.

Re: P&O Shares
Done all of that John but they still want further evidence of ownership. I’m beginning to think they’re more trouble than they are worth. They must have employed Stevie Wonder if they can’t see all the information they requiretowny44 wrote: 02 Apr 2022, 22:42If you hold the shares through an investment company, many of them will provide evidence to Carnival via the following e-mail:--- Shareholder benefits <shareholderbenefits@carnivalukgroup.com> you need to phone them or send a private message from your online account.

This is the email below that they sent me.

We are unable to process your shareholder benefit application at this time as the evidence of shares provided does not prove current ownership because it is not dated within the last 3 months.
Please submit updated evidence of shares dated within the last 3 months via email or post, and ensure that your full name and number of shares owned is visible. The body of your email must include your full name, the booking reference, date of sailing and the name of the ship.

Re: P&O Shares
I hold mine through II and all I had to do was print out a statement that included the date, my name, address and holding. On II this was available on the page that displays the shares ... so I printed it out and emailed a copy after blacking out the account number.
I don't use HL but would guess that they have something similar.

Re: P&O Shares
I’ll give HL a call tomorrow and see what they suggest.
It sounds as if Carnival want something like a utility statement within the last three months to show my name and address as proof of ownership, but I’m just guessing here. Apart from that I don’t know what more I can do. I won’t hold my breath waiting for a reply from Carnival shareholder benefits, and as per usual they never provide a phone number on they’re emails.

Just remembered, Julie has an active savings account with them. I logged i and below her holdings are options 'Print page', 'PDF Version', Download.. The 'PDF version' produces the required document (you should black out the account number) ... the print version may also suffice. The account holding screen of your shares may include a similar option.

Re: P&O Shares
I believe that with HL all you need to do is email them with your cruise details and they do the rest.
I bought mine through my bank and I get a statement every three months so I just sent them the relevant pages of the statement and it was all done and dusted within a week.

Just teething troubles because you are doing it for the first time. Next time it will be a doddle.

Like David I also understand that HL have a facility to e mail carnival on your behalf. I would ring them to check how you set this up.david63 wrote: 03 Apr 2022, 08:41I believe that with HL all you need to do is email them with your cruise details and they do the rest.

Thanks everyone, will give them a call tomorrow.
Your right David, although I’ve had them a couple of years now, because the cruise keeps getting put back because of Covid it’s the first time I’ve been able to use them.

Re: P&O Shares
We don’t have our shares lodged with HL but with another provider. It used to be plain sailing but the provider now refuses to give details to Carnival of our holding quoting GDPR ( nothing at all to do with saving them the hassle, honest!) So it’s been screenshot, redact & e-mail for us for the past few cruises. A chew but not worth changing provider.

My shares are also with ii, and you can ask them to e-mail Carnival confirming your holding. Just send them a secure message with your cruise details and they do the rest.Kendhni wrote: 03 Apr 2022, 07:57I hold mine through II and all I had to do was print out a statement that included the date, my name, address and holding. Re: P&O Shares
Hopefully I have now after a bit of a learning curve
I actually got an email back yesterday from HL which surprised me asking me to send the basics, name, ship, booking ref and date of travel. Apparently I needed to send the info via secure message. Not having a clue what that meant I just replied to the same email. And of course that got rejected.
Eventually I read
Message sent with required info, so I shall wait and see what the response is.

This may help
https://ask.completecruisesolution.com/ ... are-holder
Never had a problem emailing my HL current statement suitably redacted.
Note current statement not contract note which just shows when you purchased them.
At the bottom of your HL statement there is an option to create a PDF file which you can edit using a PDF editor. There are many free ones available if you Google.

Re: P&O Shares
I’m with HL Stephen and had no problems.
Pull up account as a PDF and it’s dated and timed.
I just sent to the Carnival share holder email with name address cruise number and the personal number.
All confirmed pretty quickly.

Re: P&O Shares
One other thing for consideration Stephen ... depending on the type and value of holdings you have, HL may be one of the more expensive ways to hold investments. It might be worth looking at your options. Try running your numbers through http://www.comparefundplatforms.com/
I restructured and took control of my finances about 6 years ago ... including dumping my IFA (whose total input for the previous 5 years had been to tell me she was happy with my current investments). The overall result is a saving of several thousand quid a year (more than enough for a cruise
). Moving from several other platforms to my current platform was easy ... just a few online forms ... and happened quicker than expected (took mine about 14 days, although I have heard some people saying it took them significantly longer). My only regret is that I did not take more control earlier.

Re: P&O Shares
Well that was short lived - and in fact seems to have had the opposite effect. Carnival UK shares are the highest that they have been for a while (as I post - could go down anytime)Kendhni wrote: 09 Aug 2022, 21:52All in on cruise stock ????
