Hi Mts Pugwash, I am generally against counters and other such things for a couple of reasons.
Firstly they sometimes breed unhealthy competitiveness. There are some sad people out there where it appears there only reason for existence is to try to get a higher count than someone else ... and sadly some even think that makes their opinion more valid than others. In some instances though it makes the person inherently dishonest and two faced as they try to garner support and increase their 'counts' ... arguably, when people have nothing to gain/lose then you get a more honest opinion..
Secondly when you use likes/dislike etc. it can stifle much of the debate since by getting people to respond often means they maybe contribute or add something new to the discussion rather than simply ticking a box.

Mrs Pugwash, why not put in a post saying you agree and maybe putting your own points across?
