Having flown with both, I'd have said "Virgin", myself, but the sentiment is the same!
But when was the last time a Virgin came out of Australia?

Until you've flown in the back of a C-130, stop complaining!

Nice pics, but couldn't spot the connection to the Mercedes thing, or even the original topic.

Is it one of those dementia tests?

If it is I just failed!

I think the reference is to the Mercedes C class motor car!

It has wandered a bit off-topic, I'm afraid, and I'm as much to blame as anyone else.

From what Stephen said, I assume there's a model of Mercedes called the C-130. I was referring, of course, to the Hercules transport aircraft.

Now, to get back on-topic, even allowing for Aussie "humour", why on earth would anyone try and fake photographs of the inside of the ship? What's the objective?

First time was in '76, so definitely not (I was on the flight deck for the whole trip from Salalah to Muscat, and could see it was all conventional instruments). Last time was in '91, so probably not.

We're straying off-topic again!!

Well, the Concordia is finally under way on her final journey.

Money?

But bear in mind I never said they were fake. Just marvelled at the stability of one or two items and the lights still being on! Of course the salvagers have probably installed generators and working lights on the ship but surely they would not have trusted the original circuits after parts have spent so long under water to turn the ship's own lights back on?

Perhaps they are "recycling" all the salvaged bits into the new P&O behemoth !
