You bother about yourself Boris.....I'm more than capable of making my own decisions and grasping what I need to...don't try to turn something what was basically children dressing up and having fun into something more sinister.Boris+ wrote:And what bothers me Sue, is that you can't grasp what Alan is saying.

At no point did I say it was a recruitment drive for the occult, just that, at the very heart of it is the occult. You rightly say it is dressing up for the kids. But you still won't say why it is acceptable to dress up in such grotesque, macabre costumes. You would (should?) be rightly horrified if someone paraded a rotting corpse down the street. So why is it acceptable for people (of any age) to dress up as such? Make-believe? Whether you accept the occult and its associated artefacts are make-believe or not is irrelevant. Superman, Batman, Disney princesses.... that's all make believe. Let the kids dress up as those characters.
You seem to be saying (and forgive me if I am wrong) that it is acceptable for children to knock on the doors of strangers demanding treats or else they'll play a trick (usually in the form of mindless vandalism). You don't seem to be condemning all the egg-throwing that those of us in the real world have to endure and have to clear up afterwards.
If you're not condemning it, you're condoning it.

Egg throwing ....
A few years ago we had a small group of lads in the village who enjoyed being a bit of a nuisance from time to time, ' Knock up Ginger ' was their favourite ( and mine too once upon a time
) ... anyhowz, as I said it was in a village so we all knew who they were but most of us ignored it and spoke to them as though nothing had happened whilst others came out and gave them a lecture.
Can you guess who's houses had eggs thrown at them ?
Just an observation.

Yes, I like your post - I did watch that on the tv, and wasn't it stunning? I admire the perseverance of those talented folk who go out and take those shots/footage of wildlife - now that's something worth celebrating and supporting.
I wish I could do stuff like that.
I reckon that children should be encouraged to engage more with that sort of stuff, at least it's real and positive.

Me too. I was also one of those little so*ds that played 'knock down ginger' with me mates. Great fun until one time I was just about to knock on a door that was a fully glazed when someone came out of their living room and walked right past the front door. I just froze and my heart almost stopped. It scared the bejeebers out of me

There is a very real spiritual dimension to life, QB. The occult is a very dangerous part of that.Quizzical Bob wrote:The occult, by definition, is not part of the real world.
