It was a fantastic feeling for me handing back my uniform and driving out the gates for the last time after 22 years. Enjoy your new-found freedom, mate!

Well I did 30 years in uniform and when I retired from the Royal Navy and bought an hotel it was as if I just swopped uniforms.

Jacket and tie every evening as mine host.

Hope you have a long, happy and prosperous retirement Screwy, its 16 years now since I took the early bath, I was fortunate that for the last 6-9 months my workload gradually diminished and my working days reduced, so in the end I never really noticed the change.

There's a repeat / repeat / repeat series on TV called ' Porridge ' ... you will have plenty of time to watch it if you miss the old place.

I didn't and I hope you don't either
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being
