For a government to survive it must keep the people happy.
An attempt was made in 2016, it failed.
You can not tell me Britain is a happier place since then (Britain, not you personally).
So we will have to vote again until the people are happy. (Parl/People/GE)

I would agree with barny.

The EU will do a lot of "huffing and puffing" but at the last minute will compromise, after all don't forget this is all about money (ours!)

The problem is though that in order for TM to get a deal there will probably have to be concessions in the trade deal for France and/or Spain.

The people of Gibraltar voted to remain in the EU and not so long ago to remain British. If, after we leave the EU they wish to decide whether they want to remain with the UK or go along with Spain they should be the ones to decide. The same for the Scots.

They are just stirring it up a bit. They know the EU aren’t going to open the WA negotiations again. There’s no point - we don’t even know what alternative to the backstop we want, so there’s nothing to negotiate anyway

We most likely do have alternatives - such as those already suggested during the original negotiations.
