Oh David. As I said earlier
We haven't seen any thing yet. This situation will change everything as we know it. If our MPs think folk will forget this in a hurry, they are very much mistaken. The anti democrats know not what they have released.
Rewriting history again Jack. Actually, if was Scottish I'd be SNP. For sure.
Well as perhaps know from some of my previous posts that I am Scottish and I can safely say I'd never be SNP! They are making a mess of Scotland the only thing that matters to them is independence at any price I dread to think of what would happen if they ever got it! But I won't get on my high horse as it wouldn't do my blood pressure any good! Thankfully there were enough of us who thought the same regardless of what the polls predicted........ Won't say anymore.

As I sai before barney - in the "real world" if you do not do as your employer tells you then you can expect to get sacked

The problem with that is that in many constituencies you could get a dead donkey elected for one party or another, and despite Barney's, outrage and lots of others as well, when it comes to a vote people will generally vote for their favourite party. There will be some casualties in marginal seats but not in the majority of safe seats.
We Brits don't do revolution very well at all, lots of bluster but in the end we prefer a night in in front of the telly.
If that’s the case, they’ve probably contravened Data Protection laws too!
In actual fact they have probably complied with Data Protection as one of the specific clauses is that you should not retain data once it ceases to be necessary for the purpose for which it was acquired.

Whilst I don't disagree with the party that some will vote for I suspect that there will be a significant change as to who the prospective candidates will be (and not necessarily for the better).

That would apply to personal data about other people.
You should keep information relating to yourself (or your company) for longer. Therefore, information relating to their own finances should be kept for much longer. When I was working, we kept data for 6 years
I note there has been very little comment about the march/protests on Friday.
Both of the massive Remain marches passed off peacefully, but were subject to much sneering from forum members.
Yet, no sneering at the Leave marchers - I must conclude that marching is ok if the cause is something the forum majority support.
I also note there been no condemnation of the way it descended into a drunken, threatening mob.
It's not rocket science that Brexit has emboldened the extreme right wing - but to see them out on the streets is not a pleasant sight. Even if Brexit had gone ahead on Friday, and this had been a 'victory' march, I feel quite sure that the end result would have been the same. They are out of their boxes now, and they aren't going to go back in.
The problem for the forum majority is that they have positioned themselves on your side of the debate. I have been surprised that you haven't all
publicly distanced yourselves from them.
Gill, as you know, I'm no fan of the right wing, be it Tory or far right, but what happened on Friday and what is likely to happen in the future is wholly predictable given what has happened. I think that the protest was the forerunner of what will go down in the future. I hope that I'm wrong, but the far right were just waiting for this opportunity as they have been all across Europe. Thank god we don't have PR or they would have a lot more sway. Under PR, UKIP would have returned 82 MPs in the 2010 election.
Slightly off topic but I'm gonna stick my neck out with a political prediction. Labour as we know it is finished. A far left Labour is unlikely to muster a majority. Tory as we know it is finished. The centre Conservative is unlikely to win a majority. The new Change UK will take more from Labour than it will from the Tories but will remain unelectable because brexit aside, they have little in common. I predict a new right party that will hold the balance of power in a coalition with Conservatives. Maybe Farage's brexit party will emerge like EnMarche. A new party from nowhere will appeal to many.

I have not heard anything about a drunken threatening mob, and I am sure the BBC would have given it high prominence if it had been as bad as you state.
