Re: Brexit
Well if the MPs do reject it yet again then I hope those voting no will get their P 45s come the next GE.

Re: Brexit
If they vote it down I look forward to the GE when the people can have their say. Also I wonder having agreed another deal whether the EU countries will be keen on yet another extension.
I was taught to be cautious

So that only leaves Boris's deal and no deal and everyone (well everyone who is interviewed) says that they do not not want a no deal so - job done. Can we move on now please?

So all this lark with a border in the sea between GB and NI is something that May said no PM would ever agree to and Johnson himself said in July he wouldn’t agree to.
So now we’ll have to wait until Saturday....... unless something happens in the meantime.....

PART 2
Deal agreed, Corbyn resigns. new electable Labour leader. Labour win GE with a handsome majority. Labour go on to agree a very close trading agreement with the EU

So we accept something worse than we’ve got now just because.david63 wrote: 17 Oct 2019, 14:42So that only leaves Boris's deal and no deal and everyone (well everyone who is interviewed) says that they do not not want a no deal so - job done. Can we move on now please?
Anyway, even if this amended WA was ever accepted, it’s not the end of the process, there’ll be years of negotiations regarding the future relationship and the trade agreement.

Re: Brexit
Maybe / maybe not but either way we will not be having an extension on the basis that a deal has been agreed between the UK and the EU, as yet to be ratified of course. Failing that we leave without a deal on the 31st of October 2019
I do admire your determination not to accept defeat even though it's staring you in the face.

I really struggle with the concept that people are happy to accept an inferior ‘deal’ to the one we have now, or even no deal at all, because they think of it as a personal victory

Trading ' Globally ' is a far better option for the future of this Country than being locked into the restraining culture of the EU.

Re: Brexit
You are making the same mistake Gill that Cameron and Osborne and Co made in assuming that Brexit was all about getting a better economic deal with the the EU then we had. It was never about that and in fact I think you do actually know that.Gill W wrote: 17 Oct 2019, 17:53

How do you know that it is an inferior deal? It is a deal and it will work, if it is ratified.Gill W wrote: 17 Oct 2019, 17:53I really struggle with the concept that people are happy to accept an inferior ‘deal’ to the one we have now, or even no deal at all,
Only history will determine how good, or bad, a deal (or no deal) it is and that will never be absolute as there is no benchmark to judge it against.
