I agree, and suggestions that were it not for Cummings' transgressions (we'll agree to disagree on whether he transgressed or not) those demonstrating, fighting with the police and partying would be sitting meekly at home doing a spot of solitary knitting is well short of the mark.
Any thoughts on Jenrick?

Though the police investigation showed his transgression was minor on the BC trip and the Durham one was quite legal.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like him. But I think it's time to move on. The thing that is killing people is Covid 19, not Dominic Cummings.
He drove to his second home (not his parents home) while his wife had C19 and he was incubating it.
We were also told not to drive to second homes.
He drove to Barnard Castle on Easter Sunday (also his wife’s birthday) for an ‘eyetest’ at a time we were asked not to make unnecessary journeys.
The vast majority of the country were doing their utmost to adhere to the lockdown.
Don’t you think he should have at least held his hands up and said he was wrong and apologise, instead of arrogantly engineering a bizarre explanation?

Just saying it's The End doesn't mean it's actually the end. People aren't going to forget this, even though other people wish they would.

I'm old enough to remember when an MP did something iffy they'd at least resign from their post or be sacked for a while.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 29 Jun 2020, 15:03Normal for all UK governments
But Johnson says the matter is closed ( maybe because he himself has been seen with Desmond, there are photos) so perhaps he doesn't want too much digging around to happen.
But this is another thing people won't forget, even though other people wish they would

You were implying he was unqualified and probably biased because he was a political appointee, but he had been the UK ambassador to Denmark so presumably fairly senior in the foreign office.

Why don't you save yourself the trouble of further arguments by simply posting "I hate Boris and anyone else associated with him in the Leave campaign". Be so much simpler. If he donated a kidney to a dying black single mother you'd still pick holes in it.Gill W wrote: 29 Jun 2020, 15:43He was morally wrong, but that doesn't seem to matter anymore. It's rather sweeping to say that I 'hate' everyone in the leave campaign.
