Well, fancy that heavens above
.

You know, sometimes I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall. I'm sure I've said several times that I look at tweets from all sorts of people, not just people who I follow.towny44 wrote: 22 Jul 2020, 15:53.Gill W wrote: 22 Jul 2020, 15:31I'm really going to have to let you guys get on with it if George Soros is being dragged out.
The only time I every hear that bloke's name mentioned or alluded to is on this forum - I don't see this weird obsession anywhere else,
Might that be because you tend to follow remainers on twitter, who probably revere Soros because he was their paymaster genera?
I'm going out for the day tomorrow, so I'll leave you all to have a good old moan about George Soros, Dominic Grieve and anybody else you can think of. Get it all out of your system.
Then on Friday, I'll report back on what it's like getting further out into the world (well, Rye and Hastings at least)
Have fun

Quite surprised really considering what an ardent Remainer you are. It was George Soros who funded, amongst other things, Best for Britain which was launched on 26th April 2017 to stop Brexit and continue UK membership of the EU, and also European Movement UK which campaigns for a close relationship with the EU. I would have thought most Remainers would know about George Soros and his funding of the Remain project.Gill W wrote: 22 Jul 2020, 17:01I don't have any interest in him myself. To be honest, I may never have heard of him if it hadn't been for this forum.

I think perhaps you over estimate the interest people generally have in him.oldbluefox wrote: 22 Jul 2020, 17:44Quite surprised really considering what an ardent Remainer you are. If the likes of Christine Keeler were perks of the job then there must have been lots of spy's around at that time...only curious but how do you become a spy?Manoverboard wrote: 22 Jul 2020, 16:33How long ago was Profumo ?Onelife wrote: 22 Jul 2020, 16:15There is no doubt in my mind that this report was suppressed for no other reason than party political advantage, but in the interest of fair politicsI’m happy to turn a blind eye because the labour party and its conspirators have done more damage to our political system in 12 months than what any Russia spy has done in the past 60 years.

Not my fault Merv. Gill told me about people in America and Obama came to mind. He's a great man. Within weeks we went from the back of the queue to the front!!!Mervyn and Trish wrote: 22 Jul 2020, 19:12Come on Foxy. Keep up. Foreigners who tried to influence us to Remain don't count. Only those who tried to influence us to Leave. It's entirely different.

1. Learn to play ' I spy with my little eye '
2. Buy the series of I-Spy Books
3. Watch all the James Bond Movies
4. Join the Foreign Office amd tell them you have a preference for Russian mince pies.

We are still ha ing many more daily deaths than the other European countries did at a similar stage in the pandemic. Surely that cannot still be attributed to any supposed delay in the lockdown, or in the NHS being overwhelmed and struggling to cope. It seems more likely to be due to the way we collect our death statistics, the underlying health of the population, our higher BAME population and even possibly in the treatment regimes that we are following. I wonder if we will ever find out, and even if we do no doubt it will still be the govts fault.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 23 Jul 2020, 12:49In other news that Bojo critics won't be shouting about, the Covid Symptom Study, the people behind the Zoe App, which currently has over 4,000,000 people, including us, submitting data daily, has done an analysis on the impact of temperature on the virus.
They have found that there is a 15% drop in mortality for every 1 degree C rise in temperature.
So, taking April, for example, London average temperature 13C. Paris 17C. Madrid 19C. Rome 19C.
Any clues there as to why we had more deaths than France, Spain or Italy?
I'm now standing by for that research to be dismissed as less relevant than Dominic Cummings being a p***ock.

It’s simply not logical that U.K. based Indians are more likely to die than India based Indians.
The methods of recording vary enormously.
Just look at the world wide infections and compare to the countries death rate.

Exactly ...Mervyn and Trish wrote: 23 Jul 2020, 17:17I think a lot is in how we record deaths and what we put on certificates.
