When I'm ready for a good laugh I'll ring my travel insurer. They'll be fallling about.

That's always an interesting thought Merv, why are you now a higher risk after having a possible life threatening problem averted, than you were before? Strange people these risk assessors.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 17 Oct 2020, 10:13When I'm ready for a good laugh I'll ring my travel insurer. They'll be fallling about.![]()

I can't fathom that one either. After a full service and refurb on my ticker it cost me another £150 a year on my travel insurance. I'd walked around all my life with a ticker which was working at half capacity but they wanted more for a fully functioning one.towny44 wrote: 17 Oct 2020, 10:19That's always an interesting thought Merv, why are you now a higher risk after having a possible life threatening problem averted, than you were before? That is the bizarre thing isn't it? I now know there is a major problem i don't have any longer. Someone else might have it so they should be higher risk. It's like charginig lower car insurance premiums for cars that have never had a service or MoT.towny44 wrote: 17 Oct 2020, 10:19That's always an interesting thought Merv, why are you now a higher risk after having a possible life threatening problem averted, than you were before? Like you my attitudes and life priorities changed after my own life saving operation, including reviewing one’s inclination to be a tad homophobic prior to that moment in time.

Hi Merv, so pleased for you that all has been fixed. Like you I have 'enjoyed' the wonderful facilities of our NHS 3 times in the last 2 years' going under for two procedures, and yes it definitely makes one reevaluate your priorities.

You certainly don't do things by halves, so glad you are on the mend, you take it easy chap and don't let politics get you going.
Leave that to the rest of the forum but time will tell if you can resist the urge

Point of order. How did 'Last One To Post Wins' get on this part of the forum. I thought it was hard coded in the 'Fun And Game' section

Re: Merv is back ... alive and well
It all started on a sunny Wednesday afternoon when two posts were moved from LOTP into Merv's Topic. The Topic name comes with the move and because someone, no names no pack drill, keeps quoting the moved posts the LOTP Topic title remains.Stephen wrote: 20 Oct 2020, 07:07Point of order. I know l'm treading where l shouldn't here but to my mind if David were to make the recent topics box bigger to include WA, LOTP and TWA you would find they would get far more hits than they presently do now. I also think it would make it easier for new members to get involved.Manoverboard wrote: 20 Oct 2020, 08:28It all started on a sunny Wednesday afternoon when two posts were moved from LOTP into Merv's Topic.
