Re: Football 20/21
Ever since Leicester's fortunes have been picking up I have been unable to get a ticket home or away. Plastic fans like to follow a successful team and we play to a full stadium but it means some of those who followed them through the lean times are no longer able to go.
In that scenario I would love to see them live.
Sorry Bensham but when we played at your place Vardy had to take a lot of stick. He loves it. However his celebration when he scored has to be one of the funniest. What a way to respond. On his day he is the perfect clown.

Wow .... it cannot be possible that we have had two Palace season ticket holders on this and the P&O cruise site. To Stephen you said " We have met before ". There's a clue thereBensham33 wrote: 10 Dec 2020, 18:55As a season ticket holder at Selhurst Park I was offered a ticket for the Palace v Spurs game on Sunday. I turned it down. I've been a Palace season ticket holder since 1968 and missed very few home games in that time (I think about 17) but until we can play in a full stadium again I just have no enthusiasm to return to watching football live. How do others feel?
If so then we two have also met before .. is it .. surely not .. can't be .. but maybe you're ' Pete the Eagle ' ?
I do hope so
Either way I feel that you should know that my PC's background is Harry the Hornet doing his Saha dive

By the way Vicarage Road is one of my favourite away grounds. Such a shame the the 'Ornets are now a lower division club.

We hardly ever watched football in a full stadium.
Probably the last time we were full was back in the glory days of the early 2000's when we had five years in the championship.
Palace, Leeds & West Ham was always a sell out (plus Millwall obviously) but I recall our very first game in the Championship was a home to Stockport (yep, Stockport County) and we only had about 8 thousand.
Given that the Gills had taken 48k to Wembley just a few months before, it was a bit disappointing for the chairman & the club.
Any decent match, and the crowd turned out, but most were fickle wannabees as Foxy said.
I recall speaking to a bloke in a pub and he said he was a Gills fan.
Where do you sit, I asked?
Oh I've never actually been to Priestfield but I've been to Wembley three times !!

Don't get too cocky mate, you are only one bad season away from playing Wycombe or potentially The Mighty Gills (again)Bensham33 wrote: 11 Dec 2020, 10:54Hi MoB....I wasn't Pete the Eagle but I was

The Championship is a really hard division to get out of and one bad season there and you'll be going to Accrington with the Sunderland, Ipswich, Portsmouth, Hull, Charlton fans, all recently Premier sides.
it's a funny old game !

Forrest away when we was relegated was the worst, longest journey home.
Wolves away when 5-0 down at half time.
I must admit it does feel a bit weird after Watford Gap.

I've travelled all over the country watching the Palace . The furthest I've been is Carlisle where you could stand on the terracing and count the sheep. I only do about 6 away games per season now.

I was obviously thinking of Pete Saha Zaha ...Bensham33 wrote: 11 Dec 2020, 13:52I think you mean Zaha MoB. Wilf doesn't dive he is though one of the most fouled players in the Prem.
I agree he gets fouled but you will never convince me he isn't a diver, he's so good at it that he should wear flippers and a snorkle during the game

Yes he does dive. He has to. Saves him from getting a broken leg or serious injury when the only way defenders can stop him is to bring him down, like at Watford a couple of seasons ago.

Agreed, just like at Watford ... they used to take it in turns so nobody got carded for doing itBensham33 wrote: 11 Dec 2020, 14:24Yes he does dive. He has to. As an aside I assume Wilf will be looking to move during the January window. If he succeeds and he surely deserves the opportunity to play at the highest level me and thee could well be swapping places come the end of the season

Re: Football 20/21
Some players are expert at drawing fouls and the champion in the Prem at present has to be Harry Kane, but the player who suffers the most fouls has to be Jack Grealish, who unlike Zaha nearly always smiles as he gets up.

James Maddison attracts his fair share of fouls although sometimes you only have to blow on him and he falls over.

Re: Football 20/21
Maddison is very capable of getting us a cheap penalty but I find players throwing themselves on the ground a pain in the neck and I don't approve. I can't be doing with whinging prima donnas rolling all over the ground one minute looking as though they have just been poleaxed only to be haring around like a demented jackrabbit the next. I do admire players like Messi who takes some terrible tackles only to get up and get on with the job.

I haven't been able to see the Hornets live, apart from on the telly, for many years and for a whole variety of reasons. However if I lived in Watford and was selected to see a match I would be in two minds.
Believing that my team would probably ' perform ' better with support from their fans I would want to go but because we are in the ' vulnerable ' category I would be too scared to so would give it a miss until both of us had had the jab but then I would go.
My enthusiasm for Prem League footy is less than it was but that is probably due to our relegation but I still follow plenty of footy on the TV. I will be watching your game on SKY albeit I will be supporting Jose

I didn't realise anybody wanted the Spuds to win other than their own supporters. Happy to support the Eagles especially if they get rid of their chav element who think they're the bee's knees!!!Manoverboard wrote: 12 Dec 2020, 09:26I will be watching your game on SKY albeit I will be supporting Jose![]()

It will help us if Palace give the Spuds a good thrashing prior to us picking up three points the week after
