Did you know that during the Middle Ages when the Black Plague was in full swing the good guys would put highly infected dead bodies into a catapult sling and lob them over the wall where the bad guys were hiding. Brings tiers to your eyes ... don'tcha think.
Is that a Freudian slip?

Just had a phone call. I must self isolate until Christmas Eve. I will be breaking the law if I don't so I will.

I was going to post my Christmas cards tomorrow. Seeing as I can't go out I will save a small fortune in stamps. I'll keep the cards until next year.

Sorry to hear that, hope that it only proves precautionary.

Frustrating isn’t it - I had the warning from the app on the phone and am still convinced it was a mistake. I could trace every person I had seen - 3 people - didn’t shop walk outside etc but I did my “time” like the good girl I am

Not sending cards this year - saving a fortune - giving to Bletchley Park trust in memory of my mother instead

It was intentional, really scarey and maybe worthy of being tier 5

I see we now have a new "daily number" to contend with - how many vaccinations there have been, but there has to be the caveat that the figures do not include those vaccinations given by GPs.

Now will this be total vaccinations or total recipients of the vaccine - no doubt something that can be argued about in the same way as testing!

Are we really interested in another meaningless number?

Maybe? As we are next on the list after all over 80s are vaccinated, but the we would need to know how many over 80s there were, and how many had been vaccinated and how many had refused the offer. So perhaps we should just wait to be called.

.... and how many had subsequently died else had it at too low a temperature or had had an adverse reaction to the jab or indeed were named Susan ?

We will be perfectly content to await a call from whoever and to then form an orderly queue

I'll have the one that refuses the offer. Just to help out and do my bit :)

She might not be but Blod is - those chocolates are probably radioactive :lolno: - I want to survive to have my vaccine ;)
Due to the cruel comments I’ve been receiving recently, I’ve decided to be far more selective to whom I chose to send keefy chocolates too…. sorry Jan but you brought this upon yourself ;)

I think there is a big difference between sending the chocolates and someone actually receiving them.

More daft questions from the media tonight:

"Why haven't you changed the rules for Christmas Mr Johnson?"
(hastily ditching the alternative prepared question "why have you changed the rules for Christmas Mr Johnson?")

"Which do we adhere to, the rules or the new guidance?"
(Derrr, both stupid, they're not incompatible. Which part of the "rules are a maximum not a target or minimum", and the guidance is to "have less or shorter contact if you can" did he miss?)

Judging by the intelligence of most journo's that have figured on these Downing street briefings, I would hazard a guess that he had no idea what the question meant.

25,0000 + new infection, 600+ deaths, more people hospitals than there were back in April and this Government is still allowing 3 families to meet up over Christmas

Please spare me ...."He can't do right for doing wrong" he's had the advice and yet he's prepared to allow our hospitals to be overrun.

This country needs a leader not a puppet.

You are being a harsh critic as usual Keefie. If you actually listened to what he and Whitty said at todays briefing then maybe you would understand and sympathise with his dilemma a little more.

You mean the bit where they said "little is better" lol

The man is reckless with people's lives and is playing this all wrong again imo...at the most we should be looking at a two day Christmas reprieve with one family plus 4 for Christmas dinner...can't leave Grans and Grandads out.

If you think my previous post was harsh then wait until our hospitals are overrun then l really will let rip.

There was an interesting comment on the news last night.

In Germany the bars and restaurants have been closed for the last six weeks and now Germany is experiencing a massive rise in infections so this would, on the face of it, indicate that bars and restaurants may not be the problem that some are saying that they are.

It is also a possibility that had the bars and restaurants remained open that Germany's infection rate could be higher.

Also the Germans are not happy that they have not got they vaccine yet seeing as how it was developed in Germany!! Still waiting for the EU to pull its finger out.
