Don't let on to Monty our moggy or he'll be packing up and moving in with you. He get's regluar cat food and biscuits and that's it. Rat would be a delicacy to him. He'd kill for itRay B wrote: 28 Dec 2020, 11:36I don't think so. What self respecting cat is going to a*se around with a dirty rat when it has salmon in a rich sauce or tender chicken in gravy amongst other delicious offerings in the fridge back home.

Don't sent Monty to me Stephen. Sorry to disappoint you but I do not like cats. Can not see the attraction of them, sleep, eat and crap. I appreciate that some are very attached to their cats, but not for me.
Don't worry, be happy

Indeed I do Moby, and they say that comedy is dead, I did watch the TV over Christmas and you could have filled a spot better than 'the vicar of Dibley'Manoverboard wrote: 28 Dec 2020, 12:28Whereas you eat, sleep, crap .... and watch the tellyRay B wrote: 28 Dec 2020, 12:14Don't sent Monty to me Stephen. I dropped Monty late last night. No need to thank me. Same rates apply with or without a kill.

Re: Rats
Well I'm sure you've been wondering how l am doing with the rat situation....well the good news is that there is only one rat in the vicinity of the chicken coop.
l've had the nature spy camera trained on the area for the past three weeks but ratty is still taking the p**s. I've tried everything to catch this rat (including poison... in pipe tubes) l've come to the conclusion that this rate has a much higher IQ than your average rat.....l tell you no lie when l say it came right up to the camera and smiled for a picture last night!!
Today l have in inpregnated some cheese with poison and placed it behind wire mesh that surrounds the chicken run (out of reach of the birds) if all goes to plan it'll be me who is smiling in a couple of days time...hopefully!!
As for the girls they have been in self isolation for the past two months due to bird flu outbreak ... it's fair to say they're not enjoying it one bit. The good news is that they are still laying lovely eggs.

Re: Rats
Just a long shot Keith (scuse the pun) and this totally out of the blue, but have you thought about getting the man in (professional)

Re: Rats
It's never crossed my mind to do that Stephen as I would rather have it 'smile' at me than fork out good money for Mr Rat-catcher to put the rat poison down. The biggest problem is that my wife won’t allow me to put traps around the outside run for fear of snapping one of her wild birds.Stephen wrote: 08 Feb 2021, 17:52Just a long shot Keith (scuse the pun) and this totally out of the blue, but have you thought about getting the man in (professional)![]()

No problem, just dunk it in water. End of problem.Manoverboard wrote: 09 Feb 2021, 09:48You could get a cage type trap, foolproof and the birds wont go anywhere near it. Downside is that you now have a live rat in a cage to get rid of![]()
