Re: Football 20/21
Tell me about it !
How we contrived to lose that game is a total mystery.
We had one going in from a free kick that our own player managed to head over from under the cross bar.
Had it been a defender, it would have been a brilliant clearance but it was our own player.
Results rest on chances missed and boy, did we miss some.

Re: Football 20/21
I watched that game last night and couldn't believe the chances you missed. There were two headers at the end which were easier to score than to miss. How they managed to miss them I will never know.

I think we probably deserved a draw at best, the boys took their foot off the gas so got frustrated. Somebody may get a right drubbing when we next play a Championship team at Vicarage Road .... oh yes

That's a very quick return fixture the computer has thrown up. Unfortunately we have a poor away record at present so you should be able to get your revenge, but maybe we are overdue another away win.

For me Marine, unlike Crawley, were totally outclassed but I did enjoy watching the folk in their gardens and house windows etc aside the pitch ... especially the cardbord cutout of Herr Klomp

Yes Marine were outclassed but when you consider the gap in status between the two clubs I do think they did well and don't forget they nearly scored first when that bloke hit the bar. What a shock that would have been, he'd it gone in.

Loved the numbers on the fence so they knew which door to knock on to get their ball back. Brings back childhood memories - "Please Mister. Chorley v Wolves. What a great tie for them. It's just a pity they can't have spectators for a special occasion. The ground would have been heaving.

I missed that but sometimes common sense goes out of people's heads when an opportunity like that arises. Remember the scenes when Liverpool won the Prem? You can't teach stupidity out of some people.screwy wrote: 12 Jan 2021, 10:01But did you see all the people lining the street when the Spuds bus turned up.?

Mobey, are you a Watford supporter? Luton have got Chelsea in the next round, I think Luton will get a drubbing. Nathan Jones needs to give some of the youngsters an outing, he is too loyal to the people who got him out of Div2 and Div 1. A cup game is a good way to try something different. They are coming to Bournemouth in a few days time. I would like them to win, but on present form I doubt it.

Frank, you have Dewsbury-Hall playing for you. How is he doing? he had a couple of promising minutes in the first team but playing week in week out will really show how goo he is.

Re: Football 20/21
Luton a smashing club. A real football ground with real fans. Come on you Hatters.
I am a bit concerned though that unless clubs start to control their players celebrations then the FA may be forced to shut down Elite football again. I think we've lost over 60 games now postponed because of covid. The National League has particularly suffered. We all know how much the Tories hate football so it won't take much more before the government pull the plug. I hope not, we need football, but unless clubs and the FA get to grips with the problem they will stop playing again.

Re: Football 20/21
The trouble is Foxy he is one of the better players and they can recall him any time that a need or a cheque book calls. Poor old Luton have real financial limitations, and the board are determined not to incur debts. They still turn in some good results. The best striker is on £5000 a week Rumoured, and that is peanuts by Championship standards. we live in hope, but that's all we have.oldbluefox wrote: 13 Jan 2021, 17:16Frank, you have Dewsbury-Hall playing for you.
