You little tinker Merv, pretending you have no interest and then sneaking in a crafty watch on Facecloth.

Moi?
But for goodness sake media. Give it a rest? How many days are they planning to keep it going? They think it's all over? It is now. Move on please.

Re: Football 20/21
Got to agree with you there but it's typical media. Once they latch on to a story they flog it to death. I dread well known celebrities dying because I know for days we will be subjected to interviews with family, friends, work colleagues, local dog etc followed by tribute shows and snippets of film. Nobody enjoys football more than I but I can understand where our Celtic ABE friends are coming from because the media just ram it down your throat ad infinitum. I often wonder is there no other news for goodness sake. I know how much you will be missing it Sir Merv but it will soon just be a fading memory.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 12 Jul 2021, 19:04Moi?

Re: Football 20/21
Before we do move on, Penalties.
Our first two penalties were address the ball, run up and crack the ball home.
The next three, address the ball, do a little dance and a shuffle then cock it up..
A penalty taker who cracks the ball as though it's going to take the back of the net out, is, in my opinion the way to take a penalty. If it is saved I can appreciate it was a good hard penalty.
At the end of the game, all the crying and removing of the runner up medals, I not going there.

Re: Football 20/21
All our preseason is off due to covid in the squad.
It looks like we may only get a week preparation.
Only one preseason friendly so far.
3-3 with Welling
Dartford, QPR and Peterborough have had to be cancelled.

Re: Football 20/21
I actually don't think he's a bad player but after spending millions a few years ago Everton seem to have come to a standstill and are now buying in the bargain department. I quite like them as a club; good family atmosphere at their ground but it is now well past its sell by date. It still had the old wooden seats last time I was there. Z Cars and the little girl going round with a basket full of toffees. I wonder if they still do that as a memory of old traditions.
I hope Palace are training up a new eagle as successor to Kayla. It's traditions such as that which make for a good away day especially when you come away with three points. We could always loan you Jamie Vardy to give it some lessons!!!!

Deeney scored 5 own goals I suppose, there's no Official confirmation on the Hornetto siteBensham33 wrote: 21 Jul 2021, 12:16By the way, I know you are wondering, What was the result last night.

That's ominous. The year we won the Prem we lost most of our pre season matches to lower league teams. The Hornets could be buzzing.

Re: Football 20/21
Our squad are back after isolating and we play Colchester on Saturday.
It’s being streamed so I thought to myself, I wouldn’t mind taking a peak at that.
£10
£10 to watch a training session ?????
It’s Gillingham v Colchester not Barca Real Madrid.
I think I’ll pass.
I’d pay a fiver, but ten blooming quid?
No ta!

Swansea have parted with their manager. Board always selling the best players and no money for buying new ones.
I'm not suprised hes had enough. Its always been the same.
They will be lucky not to drop out of the championship.

Colchester played us twice in the same day so it could be good value for moneybarney wrote: 22 Jul 2021, 09:39Our squad are back after isolating and we play Colchester on Saturday.

They played Spurs on Tuesday and lost 3-0 but Spurs put out a strong team. Scorers were Son, Lucas & Alli

Re: Football 20/21
No MoB....Deeney wasn't playing.. it was an under 23 Watford side but Bromley played a number of trialists and about six first year scholars. Pre season friendlies aren't about getting results, they are about preparing for the new season.

Re: Football 20/21
One of our under 23s has just been loaned to the Gills , well regarded I believe
.
Another of our Under 23 players, a goalkeeper, has joined ' Andy H ' at Dover

Nearly all of the young loanees from higher clubs have failed to win a first team place over the last few seasons.
Hopefully he’ll do well but we have a very experienced and strong midfield.
Hard to see how he’ll get a game.
He’ll have to really show in training.

I'm hoping Watford will buy your Ashley Grimes, a very decent player for £4 - £5 millionWhynd1 wrote: 22 Jul 2021, 09:47Swansea have parted with their manager. Board always selling the best players and no money for buying new ones.
