The little club does it again against the multi millionaires. The fairy tale just goes on and on.

Yep , well done Leicester albeit against a weak city side.I’m no City lover being a Utd fan, at least we stuffed Everton 4-0 in a friendly.
A word for Rafa. FACT. Utd won.!

You could well be right.Bensham33 wrote: 07 Aug 2021, 17:22Going by this afternoon's game Gillingham might well be playing the 'Ornets next season. I think the Eagles will be okay.
Our team was based on a makeshift back four and midfield. Fingers crossed that Cisco knows his best team and was fielding the also rans to see what they are about. So many key players were missing, are they being sold to pay off the £35 million debt or what ?
Well done the Foxes, I love it when City get beat

Re: Football 20/21
Weirdly, our back four yesterday consisted of three centre backs and a left sided winger.
Bennett who played right back said he had not played there for ten years and was a bit leggy to be honest. The left sided guy did ok but we’ll be stronger with square pegs in square holes.
Like most teams, we are so light on players.

We had 4 first choice players plus the manager isolating after testing positive for covid, so maybe an away draw, even against an under strength Derby team, wasnt a bad result.

EFL cup starts tonight for the makeweights
We are away to Crawley and a defeat is well on the cards, given our manager has announced he needs to protect the first team starters.
Still, it will give the youngsters a chance.
We have a promising young teenage striker called Sithole.
Let's see if he can find the back of the net.

Everyone is fighting for the right to join Huddersfield in round 2, having dispatched Sheff W, albeit on penalties.barney wrote: 10 Aug 2021, 15:54EFL cup starts tonight for the makeweights

Were you on the second time round with penalty takers or did you only miss one penalty, or maybe none at all?

None were missed until Crawley missed number 10 and then our 17 year old scored.
What a baptism on his debut.
Last week he played in the youth against Southend youth.

Do you think you should get your penalty coach drafted into the Englsnd set up?barney wrote: 10 Aug 2021, 22:31None were missed until Crawley missed number 10 and then our 17 year old scored.

Re: Football 20/21
Unlikely.
Firstly he’s Scottish
Secondly he’s immensely unpopular
Thirdly he got sent off last night so the assistant sorted it out.
In the post match interview, he said that he left the order to the captain because so many were not first team players. Five under twenty.
The sending off of the manager was a weird one.
Our young striker, making his debut and just 18 and quite slight, was absolutely scythed down right in front of the dugout. It should have been a straight red. One because it was a terrible tackle and two because the lad would have been away and on goal.
The defender got booked, our manager went apeshit and he got a red.

Another Hornetto loanee, a Swedish goalie this time, has gone to Doncaster Rovers where he saved three consecutive pens in their game vs Walsall in the EFL Cup.

Re: Football 20/21
Phillips smacked in a volley from outside the area.
Worthy of winning any game.
Unfortunately it didn’t
He certainly has something about him.
He’s quite physical which is needed at this level.
Gills manager is impressed so far.
We had two guys from Arsenal last season and neither cut it.
One of them said he headed the ball more in his first game than he had in his career so far

League Cup 2nd Round.
Games to be played W/C 223/8
Watford v C. Palace
Gillingham v Cheltenham
Huddersfield v Everton
Looks like an early visit to Vicarage Road for me this season.

Re: Football 20/21
My first live game in a few years with Gills away to Plymouth.
Such a palava trying to get a ticket but fortunately they are doing pay cash on the day.
Really looking forward to it.
Gills don’t traditionally take that many to Plymouth due to distance but I’m hoping to see a few familiar faces.

Enjoy your day out barney. I hope it's not pointless.
I'm going to Stamford Bridge. I think my trip will be pointless. I reckon Chelsea are a good bet to win the Premier League this season.

Not surprised really, newly promoted clubs are always pretty dangerous early in the season when they are totally motivated and full of confidence. Good result for them.
