Re: Frequent login request
In all the years on here I've never logged out. Yes, I occasionally have to login again even though the keep me logged in box is checked but that's about it.

I never log in or out and dont experience any of the problems.Ray B wrote: 14 Feb 2022, 13:55I log in and out every time I use the site, never had a problem.
I assume the problem is with never actually logging out at the end. Other than that, don't understand the problems you all have.

You're a real bundle of laughs Moby, but I suppose Watford supporters have to get them somewhere.Manoverboard wrote: 14 Feb 2022, 16:17You cannot post without logging on ... just sayingtowny44 wrote: 14 Feb 2022, 15:17I never log in or out and dont experience any of the problems.Ray B wrote: 14 Feb 2022, 13:55I log in and out every time I use the site, never had a problem.

Re: Frequent login request
Interestingly, David, I have noticed that loading the site and moving between topics is much quicker when I am not logged in.
I don't log out myself but have been logged out and needed to log in again a couple of times recently and, having done so, the snail takes over.
Moral - if you just want to read, don't log in, wait until you want to post. Who knows, that might even improve the forum in some cases.

Yes, Moby, that's true, unfortunately. Somehow the problem does seem to lie with the log -in page, though.Manoverboard wrote: 18 Feb 2022, 09:04Good plan but you will not be able see all of the Forumskaymar wrote: 17 Feb 2022, 17:15Moral - if you just want to read, don't log in, wait until you want to post. It is highly possible. As far as I can tell the majority of users having problems are using Chrome - although I am not sure which versionManoverboard wrote: 21 Feb 2022, 12:43Norton advised one of a Chrome problem, could it be connected I wonder ?

What Happened?
Google confirmed in an official blog post that a new Zero-Day vulnerability (CVE-2022-0609) has been found in Chrome browsers and is being abused by the hackers.
You can read about the specifics of the vulnerabilities on Google's blog site.
What should you do?
Google has pushed out the latest Chrome update (version 98.0.4758.102) which will roll out over the coming days/weeks.
The update can also be done manually. To check if your browser is updated, navigate to Chrome menu > About Google Chrome. A new tab will open that will either begin the update process or inform you that you're already on the latest version of Chrome (98.0.4758.102 or higher). Zero-Day hacks are the most dangerous kind of security exploit.

I couldn’t get logged in this morning so sent David a stinking (get your act together) email…as you can see it worked
Hi David, Not sure what happened this morning but the glitch has sorted itself so no need to respond to my email. thanks

Is anyone else having this problem again? I was little affected before but on Chrome on my phone I'm being chucked out every day, sometimes more than once, and even mid session when I'm half way though posting a reply.

We must be in the naughty corner.
I've tried it on a different browser and it's the same.

Honest guv I have not changed anything.
I certainly don't have any problem with Firefox but it does appear that despite setting cookies some browsers are ignoring them from time to time (no idea why)

Re: Frequent login request
Using chrome on my iPad and no problems.
Occasionally I’m asked to login again but that’s about all.

I have to sign in about nine times out of ten, just occasionally I get straight in. I still have a wait in order to change topics, but I don't mind, it's worth it when I get there - usually!

Re: Frequent login request
It took me ages to post the above comment. First of all I was told that I might like to review my post because a similar one had just been posted so I tried again and this time I was told I couldn't post another comment so soon after I posted the last one - I hadn't posted one! No doubt I'll be told the same thing now. I'll try.

Re: Frequent login request
Not having any problems on chrome, and I dont keep needing to login, however I never log out or switch off. I use 4 browsers for different requirements, main one is chrome for cruise forums wordle and general browsing, Edge for BBC weather and BBC sport, and Samsung for e-mails, Firefox I used for covid stats , but that's idle at the moment.
I find this an easier and generally quicker way to switch between search options.

Re: Frequent login request
I use MS Edge and have to log in every time ... hardly a hardship though.
As an aside our energy supplier OVO refuses to allow me to logon to my Account with them. They fix it and then it loses my email and password again. They say I should use Chrome and an App ... I say P*** O**, as the customer I will use whatever suits me. They are presently investigating the problem.

But in the end you're the only one suffering an inconvenience, why not just add chrome to your pc/tablet or phone and use it for your Ovo communications?Manoverboard wrote: 31 Oct 2022, 08:34I use MS Edge and have to log in every time ... hardly a hardship though.

Re: Frequent login request
I only use the laptop now for spreadsheets and I use my smart phone for all other computing, I find it much easier and slicker, there are now fewer websites that are not phone friendly and as I said earlier I use multiple browsers which enables me to switch to the different areas I regularly browse very easily and rapidly.Manoverboard wrote: 31 Oct 2022, 09:34I do not wish to use Chrome on my PCtowny44 wrote: 31 Oct 2022, 09:10

Oddly we are with OVO and use Edge on the PC and have no problem accessing our account.
