Update for Moby

Phillips started on the bench but came on for our injured skipper with 30 minutes to go and was immense.
He obviously has a good character.
If he can curb his enthusiasm, he’ll be a proper player.
13 starts
9 bookings
3 reds
Managed to get by today without a card of any colour 👍
Dahlberg is warming the bench.

I noted that ' Dan the Man ' provided an assist for your winning goal & out of the relegation zone

He did Moby.
Harris really likes him as a player but needed to have a serious word about the unnecessary bookings.
If you’re taking one for the team, that’s one thing, but gobbing off to the ref and fighting is not wanted at professional level.
He needs to calm down while remaining tough tackling.
Senior pros seem to manage that.
I’d be happy if he came back next season but that’s unlikely.
If Watford go down, he would be on the fringe.
If you stay up, he’ll go to the Championship.

Should be a good match. We are getting some of our injured players back and are finding a bit of form. The defence has looked much better especially since the return of Fofana and Evans. Could be a close run thing just as long as Zaha stays on his feet 😂😂😂

Not over till it’s over mate.

We had to go to Sunderland last Saturday with once again a patched up side due to injuries.
They absolutely battered us and it was a heroic defensive performance until the 96th minute when they got their (deserved) winner.
That point may prove very important come the end of the season.
We’re still fighting and refuse to go down like pussies.
No Phillips by the way.
Injured.
He would have stated.
We had to give an 18 year old his debut in midfield.
He did ok but was knackered by 70 mins.
Unfortunately couldn’t fill the bench which didn’t help.

Actually I don't find much fun in watching my team struggle every week. No matter which division I would much rather enjoy the experience and see them playing well and have something to enjoy and talk about otherwise it's just a miserable experience.
Nobody likes relegation but sometimes it has to happen to get rid of some of the deadwood, hang on to the better players, and if they want to go then let them and use the cash to buy up and coming starlets. It also gives some of the younger lads a chance to shine.
Part of the trouble is the leap in standard between the Prem and the Championship. When you're trying to compete on a shoestring budget compared to some of the big boys you are always going to struggle. I'm delighted at the moment to see some of the smaller clubs towards the top of the division mixing it with those who expect to be there just for who they are.
The Foxes have been lucky in their recruitment by and large but they have also been canny. We have often sold one of our star players to bring in promising young lads. Not all of them work out and we have had some duds but if you look at our team there are few much over the £30 million mark. Palace likewise have been shrewd and have a crop of young talent.
It would, of course, be good if Watford were to survive but are you going to struggle again next season? And looking at the top of the Championship it looks like there are a couple of recently relegated teams knocking on the Premiership doors. Hope never dies.
Good luck Mob.

If we do stay up then we will likely bring in a few more 3-4 million pound players which basically is not enough for the demands of the Prem. Last year we were 35 million in debt and this year it's a tad better at 22 million. We'll doubtless do better if Sarr stays but I think he'll go to Liverpool.

Be good if you could escape the drop but what happens next season? Another season struggling to get points? Better to take the drop, re-build and have the excitement of getting back in the promotion race. I know which I would rather have.
You could really do with a young, dynamic manager (sorry Roy) who will motivate a new breed of young players. Indeed Sarr will probably move on but his money can be reinvested from the lower leagues plus one or two free transfers for a new look team. I've got to admire teams like Brentford and Forest who have built teams around youth and a dynamic footballing style.
I feel sure there are one or two young British managers out there looking to take the next step in their careers who have already cut the mustard in other divisions rather than some continental who doesn't have a grip on the English game.
Sorry I'm not available for Saturday afternoons............

The Hornets now find themselves in a mini league with 2 out of 3 going down
Gills situation is similar with 2 out of 4 going down.
We have a massive six pointer on Easter Monday.
Win that and we should be ok.

It's difficult for Watford with Burnley and Everton having a game in hand but that's not to say they will win those. However still 24 points to play for.

Gills have the best chance with only one point separating them from safety leaving both Morecambe and Fleetwood in a precarious situation. With five games to go anything could happen and Easter Monday will be crucial.

One thing's for sure they will be scrapping like hell for points (or should be) so there will be one or two shock results and a fair few dramatic draws.
