Actually I don't find much fun in watching my team struggle every week. No matter which division I would much rather enjoy the experience and see them playing well and have something to enjoy and talk about otherwise it's just a miserable experience.
Nobody likes relegation but sometimes it has to happen to get rid of some of the deadwood, hang on to the better players, and if they want to go then let them and use the cash to buy up and coming starlets. It also gives some of the younger lads a chance to shine.
Part of the trouble is the leap in standard between the Prem and the Championship. When you're trying to compete on a shoestring budget compared to some of the big boys you are always going to struggle. I'm delighted at the moment to see some of the smaller clubs towards the top of the division mixing it with those who expect to be there just for who they are.
The Foxes have been lucky in their recruitment by and large but they have also been canny. We have often sold one of our star players to bring in promising young lads. Not all of them work out and we have had some duds but if you look at our team there are few much over the £30 million mark. Palace likewise have been shrewd and have a crop of young talent.
It would, of course, be good if Watford were to survive but are you going to struggle again next season? And looking at the top of the Championship it looks like there are a couple of recently relegated teams knocking on the Premiership doors. Hope never dies.
Good luck Mob.
