Our 22 year old oil boiler got serviced twice ... 2005, 2016 ... both times because it failed to fire up. Usually the engineer asked 'when was it last serviced' and I just told him I would have to look it up (I am sure he knew fine rightly). Funny enough in our street, despite all the neighbours having their boilers serviced regularly, our boiler was last-man-standing (probably had all the efficiency of a combine harvester though).Ray B wrote: 03 Oct 2022, 12:20We have just upgraded, done away with our zombie boiler, which other than gas usage has not cost us a penny in maintenance during it's 40 odd years of service. As an original Corgi engineer, serviced myself, we now have a all singing and dancing system boiler.
The lovely gas people fitted us with a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 life 35Kw system boiler (means little to me, but it seems to do the job).
