They value their money, expenses and power too much.
It’s quite fun watching the fiasco if you can overlook the damage
Sir Graham Brady seems pretty good at organising stuff.
Maybe it’s his turn.

I doubt very much there will be a General Election because the Tories are surely not that stupid. Instead they need a steady hand on the tiller to calm everything down, take control and instil some confidence. It won't please the left wingers who will bleat whatever the government do but it will give the Tories a fighting chance for a 2024 election, which is what I think they will take.
"would be" .. is there any doubt left?Gill W wrote: 20 Oct 2022, 16:35Reports are saying Boris Johnson wants to run for leader.
If he was the new leader, the Tories would be a laughing stock and beyond redemption
Interestingly, one political commentator on TV this morning suggested that if Sunak had won the PM election then his chancellor would have been Hunt. So maybe no change in chancellor.Onelife wrote: 20 Oct 2022, 16:55Current odds
Sunak 10/11
Mordaunt 11/4
Johnson 9/2
I’ll settle for Mordaunt as PM and Sunak as Chancellor nothing less.

So if I was to be PM for a day I would get that too? Where do I sign up?Kendhni wrote: 20 Oct 2022, 17:46If you a really sickening story in relation to this fiasco of an incompetent PM that has cost this country billions

She isn't worth a single penny of it ... they need to put a cap on the amount to previous PM's ... the more surviving PM's the less each one gets.

And while they are about it can they also keep their noses out of Tory party matters - it is nothing to do with them if Boris is allowed to stand (not that I think he should)

If this is correct then it just goes to prove what a F**ked up political system we have in allowing this to happen…vote “Green” and we can start the process of dismantling the Monarchical system that underpins this... “not fit for purpose political system we have now”Kendhni wrote: 20 Oct 2022, 17:46If you a really sickening story in relation to this fiasco of an incompetent PM that has cost this country billions

I think you have been sniffing too much paint thinners lately.Onelife wrote: 21 Oct 2022, 15:43I’m having a rethinkif it’s not to be Penny then I’m rooting for Boris as I would love to see those who have caused the demise of the conservative party (Remainer MP’s) back where they belong, staying on the back benches.
