Don’t start bringing facts into it Maureen.
That’s a slippery slope to be on.
It’s better to be talking about ‘feelings’

Misleading someone is a deliberate act, ain't it? How can you accidently mislead an entire nation with lies, lies and more lies. The bloke should be chucked out of Parliament.

He can lie to his hearts content then, if people are daft enough to see that bloke speak then more fool them. What's Blair got to do with it? Besides inquest after inquest after inquest after inquest said he didn't lie.

"Chilcot: Tony Blair was not 'straight with the nation' over Iraq war" The Guardian
"Tony Blair lied to justify the 2003 war on Iraq—and wanted regime change there since at least 2001. The Chilcot report into the war, published last week, is explosive.
Its findings—and the evidence they are based on—are the strongest proof that Blair lied and plotted to launch the war that devastated Iraq". Socialist Worker
Not my words and not even the right wing press.
Twice he promised an EU referendum as part of his manifesto to get into power. Twice he lied. At best Blair avoided the truth and at worst he lied.

Yes, I know Blair lied I never said he didn't, so I'll ask you again what's he got to do with Boris Johnson?
Neville Chamberlain lied back in 1937, he aint got nothing to do with Johnson either.

I was responding to your comment #881.
"He should be good at it, he's good at telling one after another ".
I presume you meant lies hence if people will listen to Blair's lies why not Boris' lies?
As far as I know Chamberlain didn't go on the lecture circuit.

You seem to be contradicting yourself in defending Blair in post #883 and condemning him in #886.

I'm not defending Blair. I'm just asking what's Blair got to do with Johnson. You was the one who introduced Blair into the conversation. There were several inquest as into Iraq and they all said Blair didn't lie. Shall we have another one.
Chilcott fell short of calling Blair a lier. He said " he wasn't straight with the nation".

In the context of how Foxy replied to my post I can see the comparison Paul…both Boris and Blair are controversial figures and as such command the attention of those who are willing pay to hear them speak”.paultheagle wrote: 22 Mar 2023, 21:31I'm not defending Blair. Going round in circles here PTE. I've already given you the connection in #886 and the left wing Press responses to Blair's honesty in #884. No point in repeating them.

Ok. But I still don't see why Blair was brought into a conversation about Johnson. There is no comparison.

Blair and Johnson have lots in common, they were both PM and it looks as though Johnson will be able to make millions from it, just like Blair has.paultheagle wrote: 22 Mar 2023, 21:31I'm not defending Blair. Re: Current Affairs 2023
Had a laugh tonight, our daughter phoned up from Vienna this evening having just returned from dinner…. she couldn’t make her mind up as to what to have so her colleague suggested the rack of lamb…expecting three or four cutlets, she was confronted with twelve… so I asked her ”what did you do with them”?.... she replied, “I ate them”
Made me chuckle
