There is a difference between cost of living and inflation.

The price of goods goes up which pushes up inflation but as inflation is based on year on year then those goods stay at the same price but inflation comes down.

So 12 months ago a tin of beans cost, say, 50p. The price of that tine of beans goes up to 60p due to the increased cost of transport - this in turn pushes inflation up. 12 months on the beans are still costing 60p but as there have been no other increases inflation has come down but the tin of beans costs more than it did 12 months ago therefore the cost of living has risen.

You do seem rather obsessed by this subject.
A recent poll showed that of those asked, 21% were republicans.
Of that 21%, 99% were obsessed with it.
The British monarchy will still be going strong long after you are pushing up daisies because they have support from the vast majority.

Hi Barney, I don’t mind you saying so at all, however, from my perspective the topic shouldn’t be viewed as my ‘subject’ or indeed an ‘obsession’, but more as a service to my country. There is an ever-increasing numbers (especially in the younger age groups) who feel the Monarchy has had its day, indeed, it is speculated that the Monarchy will have died a death within the next hundred years or so, (can’t come soon enough for me) alas, I won’t be around to see this happy occasion but I fully expect to be recognised for playing my part in its downfall, perhaps in the shape of a rose garden dedicated to Onelife with an epitaph which reads…”.He was ridiculed for his beliefs but shone a light into our future”
