Alan, I do respect your views, but dont agree with them at all.
Are you saying that all men and women should be virgins when they get married?
Maybe I cannot deny we wouldnt be seeing the same problems....
But we would be seeing other problems...sexually frustrated people... bring on the bromide.
Average age people get married now is 30 !!!
Would that not have an effect on the population....?
Yes, I am saying we should be virgins when we marry, but I fully accept that this, for most people who sneer at Christianity (and, indeed and sadly, for some within the Church) this is not going to happen. Society has become desensitised to pure, loving intimacy, and it is expected that a girl will dress provocatively and be prepared to strip off for all and sundry to look at her, it is expected that everyone will sleep around and have multiple partners - we've cheapened the whole thing. This is not how it was meant to be.
Sexually frustrated? Well, again, if sex wasn't so aggressively pushed in so many ways, but was revered for the beautiful act that it was meant to be, I very much doubt that sexual frustration would be a problem. However, not only has the horse bolted, but the stable door has been removed, so there's no way now that this is going to be reversed.
What is needed is a paradigm shift in the way we think - but, again, that isn't going to happen.
Trust me, the bromide doesn't work!!
