There is also a basic flaw with this idea - some "do gooder" will complain about the insect rights and take the UN to court!

To be totally accurate I have always said, and believe, true poverty does not exist in the UK, except where it is self inflicted .. it does exist elsewhere in this world though.

However the comment was meant to be an extension of the humour you had used

Had a look around the garden, I'm a bit short on insects, not enough to make a meal.
Now if we get the big slugs this year like we had in the wet summer last year they may make a change from chicken on the BBQ. Slug anyone.

logically it makes sense ,as we are nearly that far down the food chain anyway, with prawns, frogs legs, shell fish and molluscs
