Blimey. Andrew M-W arrested. On his birthday too.
But why has the press published his name when the police statement clearly states that the name of the arrested person is not being released?
Because they know who it is, it's not illegal to do so, and they know they'll be the odd one out if they don't.

“Misconduct in public office” why pick on poor old Andy when most of them have been party to doggy dealings, not to mention a few extramarital affairs. :D :D :D :D :D :D
Why are picking on the Royal corgies?

A sad situation but the more I see in the media these days the more disenchanted I feel: Epstein, Mone, Mandleson, Murrell, A M-B etc. Increasingly the stance appears to be ‘as long as you get away with it, then it’s OK’ Did public figure of the past have a firmer moral compass or is it simply that they didn’t have the level media scrutiny in the past?
In a lighter note; I did wonder if A M-B thought it may have been a birthday-o-gram when the police officer knocked at his door this am (being plain clothed officers spoilt that idea.)

I wonder if one of the officers attending was female, or there could have been a Del boy moment :D

Shouldn’t be long before the “Firm” starts doing their damage limitation exercises…so don’t be surprised if you hear reports that Meghan and Harry are mistreating their Chickens.

And we wonder why our political system is in such a state…x plumber/plasterer Hannah Spencer wins her seat in parliament. She may well be a nice person but learning on the job isn’t the way forward imo. It’s about time that all prospective politicians have at the very least a masters degree in political studies to attain MP status…and once this is attained there should be an independent regulatory body that scrutinises their ongoing suitability for the position.

While the leader of the Green Party Zack Polanski is quite charismatic in his deliveries he imo will take the Green Party so far left that the ethos of the Green Party will be lost to his personal political ambitions.

I wouldn't go quite that far but I have been saying for a long time that MP's should have to go on a training course before taking their seat in HoC.

The majority of MPs will never become govt ministers, and since they are supposed to represent their constituents it is probably better that they are more closely akin to them.
As regards the high achievers amongst any new MPs they will already have had a good university education, and I am fairly certain that they do receive further help to polish their communication skills so that they at least sound as though they know what they are talking about. Athough some of the current crop clearly do not live up to the standards that we seem to expect.

Yes - from anywhere that is south of Watford Gap!

To be pedantic everywhere is north of somewhere and south of somewhere else (except for the north/south poles)

I thought that Trump was the great peacemaker no somebody intent on starting WW3. If so then why has he, along with his puppet Netanyahu started bombing Iran?

He has also changed his tune about Europe by using the excuse that Iran was developing nuclear weapons that could reach Europe - it was only a couple of weeks ago that Trump was saying that Europe had to look after itself!!

Taking the word of a country who uses religious rhetoric to justify its actions isn’t to my mind a country thet should be trusted, especially where nuclear capabilities are concerned.

Any peoples who wish to move from an oppressive regime to that of a secular democratic state should in my opinion be supported.

I am not sure that bombing Iran is in any way supporting those who would prefer to leave.

I don't altogether disagree with the principle but it is not, in my opinion, right for one country to try and impose their way of life on another country.

How would you feel if a middle east country tried to impose Sharia law on this country?

I don’t like it David which is why we should do something about it.

Not so sure they want to leave...80/90% of the population want different governance.

Twas you that commented on those wanting to leave an oppressive regime should be supported.
Unfortunately I dont think even killing the supreme leader is likely to bring about any change in the regime, and American intervention with troops on the ground doesn't have a good track record.

I would like to know what gives Trump the right to decide to bomb another country.
