It will be hailed as a great, fantastic, success...you Betcha it will…the firm wouldn’t have it any other way…those of a more sensible disposition will see it as a complete waste of money.

None that are hosting the President of the US and his top team for a dinner. Shouldn't that make a difference?david63 wrote: 26 Apr 2026, 22:55How many hotels have you stayed in where they scan your luggage?Mervyn and Trish wrote: 26 Apr 2026, 20:50And how did he check into the hotel with guns and knives?

But from what I have read there were metal detectors at the entrance(s) to the venue but by then he was already staying in the hotel.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 27 Apr 2026, 09:55None that are hosting the President of the US and his top team for a dinner. Just another American cock up - they stopped him before he could get to Trump!!
Anyway if the rumours are to be believed it was all staged to deflect from the war with Iran, otherwise why would anyone say "I stayed around to see what was happening" when gunshots were being fired?

I certainly agree on the latter. Another BAFTA entry.

Instead of having a vote on what Starmer knew or didn’t know perhaps the time could be better used having a vote on whether or not cameras should be allowed into the chambers…our political system has descended into a soap opera with the main characters all trying to showcase their leadership potential by undermining anything the government puts forward. Cameras in the debating chambers have created a platform where the actors perform for public votes not for the best interests of our country, imo.

Ray, you know my favorite tv channel… but just in case you’ve forgotten… itv attheraces.
I credit myself as one who can look past the shenanigans that go on in them chambers but sadly many can’t and get influenced by them.

Did anyone see the report last night about Mini Markets, and trading standards officers getting threatened with physical abuse, rape and crimial damage to their property for investigating illegal trading offences. Was it a coincidence that all those filmed making these threats were of an eastern Europe ethnic origin? As I was saying a couple of weeks back this is getting totally out of hand and needs sorting ... .send in the SAS or similar and close (without trial) any shop that is found to be abusing this country's laws. As for those committing these crimes have them disappear because I for one won’t be asking any questions as to where they’ve gone.
