Dear DQ, I'm sure your friends would love some monogrammed cushion covers if they are a) The Queen and Prince Philip, b) Delboy and Rodney, or c) Katie Price or similar chavtype person. If they are none of the above, then behave yourself and buy them a nice drop of booze

Or she could get both, so they could lay their heads on the monogrammed cushions after they got P****d on all the booze they got given.HK phooey wrote:Dear DQ, I'm sure your friends would love some monogrammed cushion covers if they are a) The Queen and Prince Philip, b) Delboy and Rodney, or c) Katie Price or similar chavtype person. My sister bought us a rose for our ruby anniversary. I believe it was actually called Ruby Anniversary (I could be wrong I didn't keep the label). I thought it was a lovely gift something that would continue to grow, and give us pleasure for many more years.GillD46 wrote:We have got to the stage where, partly because of downsizing, we don't actually want any more "stuff".
We gave some friends of ours, for their ruby wedding, a ruby coloured rhododendron (for the "ruby" bit) plus some gardening vouchers. For close friends, we have given some very nice wine plus a voucher for a meal at a "good" restaurant. I would appreciate something like that, rather than something I would just put away in a cupboard.

When I took early retirement I had to get a colleague to take my presents home for me (I don't drive) as most of them where bottles of alcohol in one form or another. Do you think that says something about me?
