We have got to the stage where, partly because of downsizing, we don't actually want any more "stuff".

We gave some friends of ours, for their ruby wedding, a ruby coloured rhododendron (for the "ruby" bit) plus some gardening vouchers. For close friends, we have given some very nice wine plus a voucher for a meal at a "good" restaurant. I would appreciate something like that, rather than something I would just put away in a cupboard.

My sister bought us a rose for our ruby anniversary. I believe it was actually called Ruby Anniversary (I could be wrong I didn't keep the label). I thought it was a lovely gift something that would continue to grow, and give us pleasure for many more years.

When I took early retirement I had to get a colleague to take my presents home for me (I don't drive) as most of them where bottles of alcohol in one form or another. Do you think that says something about me?

Iv just been reading about Ruby Wedding.. it didn't actually get a good write up in my rose manual.
Its a small spreading bush, below average hight.
book suggests going for other deep reds..lol

Royal William comes with lots of awards or Velvet Fragrance.

or you could just get the bloody cushions !!!!
