Hi Helen,

Thanks for that - but it's not quite what I'm after, nearly but not quite. I think I might ask friends in the States to sort something out for me - otherwise I know of a couple of Xmas shops which are open all year - I might go and have a look there.

The extremely annoying this is that we were walking past a suitable store with loads of nice stuff earlier this year whilst we were on a cruise - and although 'Squiggle' was in existence we didn't know and hadn't been told. It's always the way! Similarly, we walked past a shop in Bergen which had really smashing kitchen accessories which would have made a nice gift for my SIL, but the silly girl wouldn't tell me the 'accent' colour she had selected for her kitchen - qed I didn't know, so didn't buy them; but they would have been perfect. No, I'm not going all the blasted way back to Bergen (just yet) just for that.

Look on the bright side - I'll have to keep on looking, which is exercise: win/win!

Em :relaxed:

If you are out towards Hollywood then pay a visit to Christmas Tree lane ... not very far away .. the entire neighbourhood is decorated.

Hi Sue,

No, not yet. I have a sneaky suspicion that the 'happy couple' are going to find out; but then telling us is at their discretion! Either they will or they won't - and whilst I really would like to know my main preoccupation is that parents and baby are all ok. I have a picture, I have a sound bite, and a little (honest!) growing pile of baby items.

Hi Keefy,

Ok here thanks, and very much looking forward to sticking my white dress on and sitting on top of a tree for most of December (which would still look more tasteful than Admirable Rob's illuminations).

Hope all ok in Shakespeare country :-)

Hi DM

I think Robbie’s going to have to pull out all the stops if he’s going to better last year’s display.

I was so impressed I posted it on YouTube.

Hi Robbie,

Due to unforeseen circumstances I’ve had to delay putting up my Christmas light until this morning... Just to add to my excitement the little kiddies across the road are holding their Christmas play this coming Friday so I now have an excuse for twinkle bells, twinkle bells, twinkle all the way. :D

Hubby is on about getting Xmas decorations out of the loft. The main problem is the table we used to put the tree on now has a large printer on it. Another problem is we normally put lights round the bay window but since moving things around in the living room the television is now in the middle of the bay window with speakers and DVD shelves on either side. It it was left up to me I'm afraid it would stay in the loft. Bah humbug

Hi Susan,

It might be a good idea to move back into your winter residence rather than cram everything into your summer house.

Televisions and Bay windows don’t go well together.... even with tinsel round them  :)

it is to my everlasting shame, that I must confess to the forum, that Lady D has bought and installed XMAS LIGHTS !!!
we are now the "proud" displayers of a waterfall of sparkly twinkly stuff in the bay window, with the promise of more to come

Don't worry, no one will recognise you as long as you are wearing your Bat Mask.
