A couple of years ago I threw out all the decorations - loads of different colourways, I wanted a fresh start.

So, now the tree is up and decorated, but this year I decided I wanted a Santa (I believe in Santa) for the top of the tree. Can I find one? NO.

What's going on?

Em :?:

Guess traditionally the top of the tree is usually decorated with either an angel or a star. I must admit I haven't seen anything else this year, nor any other to be honest.

Hope you manage to find what you're looking for but if not, there are loads of nice fabric Santa ornaments that could easily be adapted. We were looking at some very nice specimens in a garden centre yesterday.

PS just looked and Amazon have loads!

Hubby is on about getting Xmas decorations out of the loft. The main problem is the table we used to put the tree on now has a large printer on it. Another problem is we normally put lights round the bay window but since moving things around in the living room the television is now in the middle of the bay window with speakers and DVD shelves on either side. It it was left up to me I'm afraid it would stay in the loft. Bah humbug

On the news tonight there was something about a family in Leicester having their outside lights and decorations stolen.
I just wondered if Mrs DK got a good deal.

Well , I’ve not long finnised putting up the Christmas tree..had to do it before my wife and daughter get back as they were talking about buying a real Christmas tree this year!!

Alas, I think they’ll know why I’ve done it as we never put the Christmas tree up till after my daughter’s Birthday this coming Saturday.

Oh well, squeak squeak!

Tell me about it buddy....About four years back we decided to go that extra mile and purchase a rooted Christmas tree, with the intention of re-planting it for the following year...I think it cost me £40. Well, it looked and smelt lovely over the Christmas period but when I came to plant the bl**dy thing all it had was ONE small root next to what was a sawn off stump...I was absolutely flaming and would have, if I had, had my way, (Squeak squeak) shoved it through the garden centres letter box.

Forever the optimist my good wife asked me to have a go at planting it...over the coming months she would often come back from a walk round the garden proclaiming that it had taken root....Now I know I’m colour blind but not that colour blind that I can't tell brown from green... which to most people would indicated that the bloody thing was DEAD...it was 7 months before my wife would let me give it a decent burial.

Anyway, all was not lost. I left it in the tub, trimmed back the DEAD branches, planted some sweet peas and had myself a readymade sweet pea climbing frame... we’ve used it every year since.

Now because I know how much you like Christmas I’m going to be the first to wish you a very happy Christmas.

Happy Christmas Stephen :)

Bo**ocks to Christmas ;)

My mother-outlaw has a Christmas tree of ours in her garden that we planted over 30yrs ago. I was hoping to do a Chevey Chase and use it this year. But as it must be over a hundred feet tall now I decided against it as new windows are quite expensive.

The rooted one we just brought will be going in her garden (she doesn't know it yet) and hopefully we'll be able to use it again next year if the good lady is able to dig it up (I normally get a bad back in December :)

Anyway, Seasons Greetings and a Happy Easter

We have managed to successfully grow on two of our rooted trees. The one outside our front door is from last year, so that will go in the ground in Spring.
