It is typical Abramovich behaviour. it's no good looking at the might have beens, Luton lost, and did well to limit the score line, The fans' facebook page makes desperate reading at times. last year they moaned incessantly about Sluga, this year Collins Cornick, Hylton Pelly and Brea. They forget that these are the players who got the team into the championship, and the club are operating on a very tight budget. They are paying the price for their pride. They dont want debt, they dont want the sponsorship of betting companies, and they dont want a sugar daddy multi millionaire like Abramovich with all that that entails. Given those limitations they are doing well, credit to the players and Nathan Jones. Clearly Kiernan Dewsbury Hall is a class act, and will be on his way soon. Oh, and I enjoyed the game.

They did not look outclassed, and at 2-1 they looked as though they might equalise.

That’s the lot of lower league football Frank.
It’s exactly the same at my club.
When we were in the Championship and finishing mid table, some were still complaining and going on about pushing on.
Do me a favour!
Like Luton, we are a league one or two club who had a good run and got a bit lucky.
It cannot be sustained without the budget.
We used to look on Bournemouth as a smaller club than us until the Russian sugar daddy who is happy to pick up the loss.
We used to nick Brentford’s best players but now they are pushing for the big time, built on borrowed money.
The debt level in the championship is horrendous.
I’m chuffed that league one and two have introduced a wage cap.
I’d rather support a team in the lower leagues than have no team at all because they have gone bust.

I listened to it on local radio and the Sky comments and goal highlights, apparently we overran them in the 2nd half, but only scored once. We need to stop conceding silly goals, because we just can't score more than one a game.

We hammered high flying Crewe with only 34% of possession.
Honestly 4-1 flattered them.
Away Sunderland on Saturday.

Listening to the radio this morning there was a discussion about the reasons why there have been so few transfers in this transfer window and one reason put forward was the result of UK's exit from the EU. This apparently makes it more difficult to recruit players from the EU so there are fewer players coming in.
My personal feelings are maybe that will encourage clubs to buy from within which would give a welcome boost to our smaller clubs. These players may cost more but developing young British talent should help our national team in the long run and discourage those clubs which mop up young foreign talent on the cheap, many of whom are never seen or heard of ever again. This is often at the expense of our own talent.
I also wonder how long it will be before EU players start to make a fuss when hey find they can no longer get a lucrative contract in the UK which would double their salaries or make them even richer.
I think it#'s going to be a case of watch this space.

Reported in the Express that Liverpool are looking at Harvey Barnes, valued at £25million on Transfermarkt!!! On your bike!!! Who writes this rubbish?

Does anybody actually watch Women's footy ?

It seems they have their own FA Cup and that the Final will be played at Vicarage Road, Watford

Loss of gate money and the extra expenses arising from Covid plus the possible outlawing of sponsorship by the betting companies would be my own reasons.

I have watched a few matches but I'm not keen. They are skilful and play some decent football but even SWMBO says it's nothing like the men's game. It doesn't seem right with bodies running around with their pony tails flapping about but then I reckon Gareth Bale looks a right plonker with his man bun!!!

You can't compare the men's game to the ladies. They are very different. In about 2001 they had the ladies FA Cup Final at Selhurst Park and a few of us went, just to see what it was like. It was awful, complete rubbish, they couldn't even kick a ball. It's come on leaps and bounds since then and with the top clubs in the country turning professional, it's improved again.

I'm really pleased that the ladies game is so popular and that girls can now enjoy the 'beautiful game' as much as boys but they are very different games.

We’ve just sold our very young and inexperienced 2nd string keeper to QPR for an undisclosed fee but knowing old Scally, there will be a high sell on clause. The lad is only 18 with one first team appearance but very highly thought of.
Also has the brilliant name of Joe Walsh.
So we had Bonham (Led Zep) on the pitch and Joe Walsh (Eagles) on the bench.
We’ve replaced Walsh with some French keeper.

We have signed up a young man named ' Pochettino '. He is indeed the son of Mauricio so could maybe line up his dad at a later date in the unlikely event that we ever need a new Manager

ps .... also Dan Gosling from the Cherries :o

You called m'lud?????
Must admit I thought we were on the end for a bit of a drubbing. For 60 minutes w couldn't hold on to the ball, kept giving it away and they were playing a high tempo match, closing down quickly so we couldn't get away. Vardy had a couple of attempts from which he should have scored but it was all Liverpool.

Suddenly they just fell apart. Whether they ran out of steam having hoped to get a couple of goals and then hang on for the remainder of the match but they had played at such a tempo it seemed their legs had gone and they were surrendering space which we were then able to exploit. Their defence in that final 15 minutes were all over everywhere leading to that comedy of errors and that final clinical finish.

Great day!!! So that's Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs we have beaten and just need a win against Manu to complete the set.

I see Brentford are losing to Barnsley so there could be points dropped there.

I’ve got Man City, Brentford, Peterborough and Forest Green Rovers in my bet.
The one with the most cumulative points at the end of the season wins £500 with 3 other prizes, so looking good so far.

Dover Athletic chair/owner Jim Parmenter, has said that the club will not play again this season, unless further funding is found, as he is no longer prepared to bank roll the club since funding has ceased. He had put players and staff on furlough and stated that he would rather have a club playing at a lower level than no club at all if it came to that. He further said that his was not the only club on the brink.

There is surely enough money in the game to not let this happen.
