One of our under 23s has just been loaned to the Gills , well regarded I believe
.
Another of our Under 23 players, a goalkeeper, has joined ' Andy H ' at Dover
.
I’ll reserve judgment about this.
Nearly all of the young loanees from higher clubs have failed to win a first team place over the last few seasons.
Hopefully he’ll do well but we have a very experienced and strong midfield.
Hard to see how he’ll get a game.
He’ll have to really show in training.
Young Phillips was picked to start against Colchester and got booked within ten minutes.
He should fitting in well with that attitude 😁👍
Comfortable win for Gills.

Under Steve Evans, we do have a much deserved reputation for putting it about a bit, so he’ll fit in well.
SE said after the match that the lad was a bit too keen to impress, given it was a friendly.
Last season, midfielder Stuart Okeefe missed most of the season with a broken leg but still managed to pick up 11 bookings in the last 15 matches without a red.
Impressive.

We play at Stevenage tonight. I predict more keenness, a 0:0 plus a few bumps 'n' bruises ...

The keeper we have just signed on loan from Chelsea was at Stevenage last season and got a good reputation with 18 clean sheets.
Our keeper from the last three seasons has gone to Stoke and his replacement is unknown, so I think the young lad will have a chance to step up.

Should of course have been Tom Dooley

Well, it was 1:1. We lost Mebudea to a serious injury but managed to play a 16 year old.

We managed to lose 2-1 to league 1 Fleetwood Town yesterday, which does not augur well for us taking the Championship by storm this season. So probably another relegation battle to look forward to.

1-1 for us.
Took an early lead and Millwall equalised late on after numerous subs.
A good exercise for both teams.
Orient on Saturday.

2,000 plus crowd as well which isn’t bad.
Friendly games usually attract hundreds unless it’s a big team but some fans are desperate for live football

We’re at home to playoff losers Lincoln so a tough start given our p’sspoor preseason.
Evans will do well to name a team and five subs but there’s plenty of time to bring in players.
As we all know, it’s not a sprint
This season’s target?
Mid table obscurity again.

Yes I've got me ticket and looking forward to it . I only hope that Wilf doesn't play. We need him for the season ahead.

We're fielding a virtually new team so they won't know the rules about kicking Wilf ;)

Highly unlikely mate, but cheers for the sentiments 😂
We are up against massive teams with massive budgets comparatively.
All I hope is that we can pull down the pants of a few of the big boys on the odd occasion and laugh at them whinging about losing to the ‘likes of Gillingham’ 😁

The referee won't make an easier penalty decision all season. Deeney tried to kick Wilf but he kept missing. I think Troy needs some steroids in his pre match raw meat he might be able to keep up then.

Going by this afternoon's game Gillingham might well be playing the 'Ornets next season. I think the Eagles will be okay.

It was 1-1 actually but a decent game after a shocking start.
Either could have won it.
Moby, Dan Phillips had a good debut, playing 90 minutes and yep, getting booked.
We like him.
He kicks everything within reach 😂
