Hi Oceania…I’m using Chrome and haven’t encountered any problems…that being said I do pay for the premium serviceOCEANIAFAN wrote: 05 Jan 2022, 10:52I am having the same problem, the site takes ages to load and when you want to see a post that again takes a long time to load.
I am using Chrome.

I've had no issue since switching to bog standard Chrome on my phone. Curiously I've never had any on my tablet using the default Samsung browser on my tablet, the browser I've switched away from on the phone.. I firmly now suspect something I've yet to find in the browser settings.

Indeed it is for me. It still takes an age to load the page and also to change topics. I am fresh out of ideas. It's only wishing to read Sue's Iona cruise reviews that keep me trying.

Re: Frequent login request
As this is not a problem for everyone then it becomes very difficult to track it down. Because it is localised then I suspect that there is some common denominator with the devices and/or connection being used, but not knowing that it is impossible to suggest a solution.

Re: Frequent login request
Are we talking about new machines here? Are peoples using registry cleaning software to clear cookies etc?
I had an iPad which was desperately slow and did not even show the option to accept cookies from this site. Thankfully that has now gone but I now have a new machine and everything runs beautifully. As for Apple iPads never again!

I was taught to be cautious

Is anyone still having problems with speed when changing topic or going to a new page? I find it takes at least 30 seconds. What I have discovered is that if I go to an available topic without logging in then it is very fast; the slowness only happens if I am logged in.

Re: Frequent login request
Sometimes I have to log in and sometimes I don't.This morning I didn't have to but it still takes ages to change topic. There doesn't seem to have rhyme nor reason. I've just come back to this site after leaving it on the screen for an hour or so and refreshed it, but I then had to wait ages for it to do that. Then when I clicked on this topic, again I had to wait a while.

I think that’s only something management can answer. But for me all is currently working well.

Still the same slow speed and this has been for at least 3 weeks, checked my broadband speed and that is OK.
And NO it is not only ladies that someone mentioned.
Obviously the Mods say that they cannot trace it their end but something is wrong it never was like this.

Re: Frequent login request
I have nothing to work with to try and find the problem.
Some have a problem and some do not which leads me to think that it is some combination of device/browser/operating system/Internet security program.
There is nothing that has changed on this site in the last couple of months that would cause the site to slow down.

Over the years one's machine gets clogged up for various reasons ...
I would suggest getting a spring clean done by a reputable Computer Specialist, it may be a case of needing more memory for example. It does not always need to be binned but that is a possibility.

Strange.................I just posted my response to this and it has disappeared. So again,
I am still having the all the problems outlined above, and like Barb44 I've notice faster speed when not logged in. But I stay logged in as the faff of logging on and deadly slow speed is not attractive.
My broadband speed is also excellent

I think you are right. I have never had a speed issue. I did have the frequent need to log in issue but only on my phone. Since I switched browser it has not recurred.david63 wrote: 07 Feb 2022, 15:39I have nothing to work with to try and find the problem.

Re: Frequent login request
If possible, and you may have already done this, try another device to see if the problem replicates itself.

The same, faster if not logged in, but when logged in, it is very slow to move between pages.Barb44 wrote: 07 Feb 2022, 14:35Is anyone still having problems with speed when changing topic or going to a new page? This happens on my lap top (Edge) and my iPhone/iPad (Safari)
I'm not having issues with other websites

I have all the same problems on my Samsung android mobile which uses Samsung platform to access the internet. And I use Chrome on my laptop which is my favoured machine for browsing. And like Gill I do not have any issues with other websites.

Same here - no problems with other websites. How many of us are there? It seems to be a sizeable number, not just a few, and it is specific to this website. I doubt I'm the only one who doesn't use the site as much as I used to as it's become rather wearing.MaureenB wrote: 07 Feb 2022, 17:18I have all the same problems on my Samsung android mobile which uses Samsung platform to access the internet. I seem to have solved the log in problem by adding it to favourites when I was logged in but the pages take forever to load as others have said.

Those who are having problems - have you tried clearing cookies to see if that makes any difference?

Re: Frequent login request
I imagine we all have, long ago when it started. I certainly have. It's a problem with the site for (at a guess) over half its users. It is not a problem with cookies, internet speed or anything else external. It is cruise-community site specific.david63 wrote: 07 Feb 2022, 18:34Those who are having problems - have you tried clearing cookies to see if that makes any difference?

Thanks for all your replies. It seems that I am not the only one still having the problem. I am using Safari on an Apple MacBook and this is the only site I have this problem with.

The first thing I tried. And a few times since but it's made no difference. Such a shame as I do enjoy this site and was looking forward to more cruising subjects as the cruising world started to open up.david63 wrote: 07 Feb 2022, 18:34Those who are having problems - have you tried clearing cookies to see if that makes any difference?

Thank you Keith.
I have read the link you kindly provided but it assumes that slow performance is throughout all sites, not just one.
With regard to your chocs? Hmmm..............your reputation precedes you so I must cordially decline your offer
Best regards
